Anyone watching? It's been a good race so far. Jimmy Johnson is running good. Gordon is now out. I've only been to one race there right after it was rebuilt from an oval, to a tri-oval about 20 years ago.

I'm not s fan of the restrictor plate races, as they get so bunched up together, but I'd like to go back to Talledega one day. I was there 20 years ago, and it's shear size is incredible.

This thing is about over. Crappy weather here today, though.

I don't really follow it anymore. The race was local this week, so that was the main interest. I might watch Talledega, though.

I've always since I was a kid had an interest in racing, but the last 15 years or so I really haven't followed it that closely.

In the early 80's I was a cameraman for WGHP-TV8 in High Point, NC in the sports department & we covered the races extensively. That was cool. Walking through the pits & interviewing drivers like Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Bobbby Alloson & all the top drivers of the day.

T.G., there will be a lot of right turns at Watkins Glen in NY later in the season ...

Awesome Bill from Dawsonville ... Fixed it for you.

Dawsonville is a pretty little city in the N GA Mountains.

He had quite a run in the mid-80's. He still holds the track record at Talledega at 212 mph.

Bills boy will be sitting in the # 24 car for Hendricks Motors after Gordon retires.

No nascar driver is married to their sister, either.

Of the 40 current drivers, only 8 are from the South. The large majority are from California & then Wisconsin.

Of *all* the tracks NASCAR runs at, only 5 are in the South.

Mr. NASCAR. That's funny. I haven't been to a race in 20 years. I'm a casual fan, at best. This is the first time I've watched two races in a row in about ... 20 years.

A Google search turned up your driver from a movie.

I don't watch movies.

How uber-hipster of you. You're too cool for us. Just too cool. Never watching movies yet always defending the honor of NASCAR and stuff. Very noble of you.
