Anyone have a local liquor store with orphan barrels still sitting on the shelf? I've heavily hunted Indianer and Virginia and have had no luck finding Old Blowhard or the new one Forged Oak.

If anyone has seen this and would be willing to procure and ship, I would appreciate it! I am willing to trade booze, cigars, or give you paypals.

Child Protective Services no longer allows for orphans to be stored in this manner.

Liquor store just over the California boarder (Hilt) had the Old Blowhard but I haven't been there in quite some time. It was really spendy and the reviews I read weren't very enthusiastic. Next time I'm there I'll check it.

I've never met anyone who buys their likkir by the barrel. That's like 250-275 1/5's isn't it. My condolences to your liver.

Glass of whiskey a day keeps the doctor away?

Heading back to northern VA next week. May spend more time digging around the DC and Maryland area than I have before.

I've sampled Old Blowhard and another from the Orphan line,I forget the name???Not worth the coin IMO.Both tasted like young $20 bourbon. If you're still interested I'll check that source.....they had a half dozen bottles of each a month or so ago.

If you really want to drop a c-note on bourbon look for Parkers Heritage......worth every penny and then some.

I am way looking for Parker's Heritage as well. The Orphan Barrels have just come down to an obsessive collectors thing now. I've got Rhetoric, Lost Prophet, and Barterhouse. Gotta. Catch. Em. All.

Price aside, I've enjoyed all the orphan barrels so far. Price included, I still enjoy its just not a mega deal I scream about. Even knowing they are not nearly as "limited" as advertised, I do like the idea that once the bourbons gone its gone because its not being distilled like this anymore. Lost Prophet was well reviewed by many folks.

I look forward to the release of the 21 yr Rhetoric and "Strongbox" orphan barrels as well. Also there was a rumor about a Tenn Whiskey one.

So yeah I'll take whatever is found. Thanks =D

I am on the hunt for this in Virginia next week. Price is steep but there are a few bottles floating around the state per the website inventories. They have been accurate so far in my experience.

WOOP! I've earned my platinum member ship at the local booze store. Manager called me to say hes got a bottle of Forged Oak coming for me!!!

That being said if you see one anywhere and don't want for yourself and are willing to ship, I'd still happily take it as long as its pretty close to MSRP =D

edit 20 march : found another forged oak today. Really just looking for old blowhard now. If anyone sees it please lemme know

At that price I'll stick with the Signature line.Still ISO the Quarter Cask and the Brandy finished. The 12 YO is excellent and well worth the price of admission at under 40 bones.
