hello all... haven't had much to do with cigars as of late but my sister in law is getting married and wants a cigar bar... figured it'd be a nice distraction from life so I volunteered to round up a dozen good boxes or so...

so far I think we're doing

blondies
kuba kubas
java mints

montecristo media noche
hemingway somethings

need suggestions for a few more... if it was my wedding it'd just be a tat bar but they would like to keep everything around 100-120 a box... I thought it might be cool to score a box of cubans for them to keep tucked away for the family members but I'm pretty clueless on those so suggestions would be helpful...

Romeo y Julieta Coronitas En Cedro for the win man, good fresh and price can't be beat.

if you are going for the flavored cigars, I have found the drew estate café con leche or the red eye to be pretty popular, none flavored Hoyo de Monterey Excalibur (any), Gran Habano Vintage 2002 and Victor Sinclair Connecticut Yankee. as for Cubans, Romeo y Julieta Romeo No. 2, Montecristo Open Junior or Partagas Aristocrats or you can go for a box of 10 just for the wedding party which will open up a bit more possibilities (monte No2, Partagas series D No4, H. Upmann Magnum 50, ect). have fun!

Not sure if you need the box for display at the wedding but these are a pretty good deal and I think would be popular at wedding.

Z has a good one with the RyJ coronitas, also though Bolivar petit coronas are on special for $120 right now..

Some others I would consider in that price point

Jaime Garcia (also can be had on freefall from time to time for around $35 a 10er)
Any of the Oliva series in maduro
Maybe one of the General Cigar brands (not that I like them but they are popular among people that are not that into cigars)
JDN Antono 1970 (can get these in a large RG for those that like at a rather decent price)
Padron 2000 maduro or natural

To help with the overall cost I would add 1 box of Ramon Bueso Genesis.

I know nothing about infused, but sounds like you're good there.

The GH2002 is great for cost, excellent for presentation, decent yard gar and it won't make a noob puke from a nic overdose.

I agree with the Bueso Genesis, and I'd add the Odyssey Robusto (even though I'm not a fan, many are).....pretty solid cigars for the casual smoker, good price point, and side by side they will look good together, letting one choose dark or light.

I'd be careful about the Jaime Garcia......very strong, and a pretty pronounced room note that I'm quite certain at least some will not like..........that.......and there will be a drunk dude who will fire one up, inhale a few drags, and puke in the punch bowl.

In fact, I'd be careful with most anything from AJ or DPG, as most of them need rest....a few months at least.....if the wedding is in July/August, no problems.......if it's April/May.............well......those Man 0 Wars might not be ready.

As noted, the basic Padrons and Hemingways are always a solid bet.......you know what they are.

Another possiblitly is the Perdomo 10th Anni Champagne......good smoke for the noob, excellent presentation, and you can get them at the other place for $32/10-pack every day.

The Four Kicks Corona Gorda is a nice smoke which a more experienced smoker would enjoy.....also available cheap ($13/5-packs) at the other place.

My sister had a cigar bar at her wedding - it was a very good time.

Try to stick with cigars that will last no longer than 1.5 hours as otherwise there will be lots of cigars only smoke to the 1/3 or 1/2 way mark.

Get nice small boxed stick matches to go with the event printed with couple's name and date of event

To stay on budget and offer some flavorful options -
Onxy reserve
Bahia Maduro robusto
Nat Sherman Host selection

All can be found at CBid for reasonable coin and should appeal to a wide range of cigar smokers.

Tatuaje Tattoo or Illusione Rothschild are good cigars/good value and not too strong.

awesome suggestions all around, and much appreciated...

they definitely want cigars in nice boxes so they can be displayed...

we'll most likely be avoiding the CI only brands, and probably not going to touch AJ's stuff or the genesis...

I think Z was dead on with the RyJ Coronitas En Cedro, assuming the price is good... it's one of the few cc's I've smoked, and enjoyed it greatly... either that or the bolivars will be in my sights...

Palama - love the 858's, great suggestion... but I'll probably go with the maduro's on the off chance that I inherit any of the leftovers... for whatever reason, I really can't stand the 858 natural...

king, the perdomo champagne sounds like a good suggestion for a milder cigar... haven't had one in a while but I remember liking them... just have to track down an actual box...

again, appreciate the suggestions...

Just my two cents but..............i gotta figure a very small percentage of folks taking a cigar are not real cigar smokers and will probably end up throwing the cigar away or smoke it for a couple of minutes and then toss it. I would set up a cigar bar with $1-2 cigars and keep a pocketful of very nice ones in my tux and hand those out to those I know will appreciate it. If there are 250 guests, you may need up to 150 cigars....lot of money for premiums to be mostly abused. Plenty of nice $1.50 cigars on this site to choose from. Again, just my two cents.🌫
