...compared to Billy Cobham.

Now, don't get me wrong... Neil is beyond good. He's awesome. As were John Bonham and Keith Moon.

But Billy? Billy is a master. He'd be the drummer for Jesus if He had a band.

I heard the foo fighters had the best drummer ever. Won an acadamy award and all, for best drummer ever.

Dude... sober as a judge (when I posted that). If you read my post in its entirety, you'll see I gave Neal his due... aside from spelling his name wrong.

Billy is better. A lot better.

Cobham wouldn't make a pimple on John Bonham's decaying azz.Listen to "When the Levee Breaks" or " Stairway to Heaven" and tell me otherwise.

Bonham is either the drummer for Jesus or Lucifer................NO DOUBT.

Of the living Stephen Perkins IMHO is untouchable.

Did Bonham play on Zep's version of "stairway", or on the original by Spirit?

Bonham was good, no doubt. As was Keith moon.

Neither had the chops Billy Cobham has. When the levee breaks? Really? Just listened to it. One of my favorite Zep songs... and if you listened to the whole link I posted and you think that is a better example of a drummer...

You're as dumb as you are ugly. And I swore that was impossible... cuz you're uglier than a mud fence with ugly fence posts.

The problem with Spirit's lawsuit is it's 3 chords of goes nowhere.Similar but add Jimmy Page and this is a no brainer.........Few even know of the song Taurus by Spirit so I call bull****.Spirit just needed a revenue source and a lawsuit was a good way to get it.

No, sir. I've had 7 beers since noon... And half as many bottled waters. I got to hit the gym tomorrow... can't do that with a hang over, broheim.

Sure, one of those beers was a 22 oz at 10% abv, but for me that's small potatoes, slick rick.

If I was drunk, I'd be cursing a lot and making very little sense. 🍺

Um, those "3 chords" are only the basis for the whole tune.

I don't care about a lawsuit.

I just find it odd that you'd defend a band that has grown to be notorious for stealing riffs.

Heck, they've had to change their writing credits on more than one occasion.

You can start with Dazed and Confused (blatant) and then learn that other songs like Whole Lotta Love and many others were also more than just "influenced" by earlier works that were never credited.

Just because "few" even know the song Taurus means nothing. It's a stolen tune.

Improved upon, to be sure. But stolen nonetheless and it should have been credited, but it wasn't.

I've heard bullsh*t infringement lawsuits before. This isn't one of them.

What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians?

A drummer.

I normally don't get in to the my dad can beat up your dad best musician conversations in which Eric Clapton is either God or a ukulele playing clown aka tiny Tim. And I appreciate the zeal in which folks over rate Zeppelin more because of their experience with them then anything truly musical. But with that in mind

I prefer Terry Bozzio to any mentioned so far.

Don't forget that in addition to being one of the all time greats, Peart also helps raise money to help put music education back in public schools.

When it comes to drummers no one ever acknowledges Ginger Baker - who thought Bonham was a hack! Eric Clapton even said that Bonham couldn't hold a stick compared to Baker.

Spirit was an underrated band. 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus was terrific (Nature's Way) and a few other "hits" like Dark Eyed Woman and I got a Line on You on other LPs...somehow a part of this band morphed into JoJo Gunn (too lazy to check on allmusic.com).

A handful of great songs but disfunctional band.
