I've never understood the fascination with when a person makes their first post.

Must be looking for cheaper than hemi's. Try the chateau series, in whatever wrapper you like, or the mag series sungrowns.

I don't think anything really compares to Hemingway but if your just looking for a cheaper Fuente 858 sungrowns are pretty good and can be found at a decent price

IMHO to truly compare to the AF Hemingway you're just going to drop more coin.Smoke the Hemingway.

I personally like the Magnum R 44(half the cost of the Hemi line)over all but the Hemi Sungrowns.........These SG's are sumpin special for sure.

Who cares if it took so long for the first post. It wasn't a mooch, but a question about a great cigar line!

Would second Whistle's post. But would add the Sun-Gorwn cuban belicoso and 8-5-8 as great lesser expensive alternatives.

Just an FYI - Casa Fuente in Vegas offers the 8-5-8 Sungrown at $13/ea and is restricted to a 2 cigar purchase. The Short Story Maduro goes for $17/ea for comparison.

Cheaper version of fuente? Flor de ybor city.....made by fuente in same factory...private label for arturo fuente jr......worth a try if you need a volume discount.....it was fun to do a blind comparison of ybor 85 to fuente 858. Comes in sungrown too. Cacman, your post above gives me another reason not to live in vegas......Is that the tourist limit and price? ?!?! $17 for ss maduro? 2 cigar limit?

Say no to the Curly Head. Might as well smoke a cigarette.

My first cigar was a curly head and I smoked quite a few back when Madonna was hot.........so when I was at Tampa Sweethearts recently , I was curious and picked up a curly head claro ( green like a candella) for old times sake and the novelty of the wrapper. No question, the worst cigar I have smoked in memory.......surprised that Fuente puts their name on it. Not just boring or plain but harsh and weird tasting. If someone is trying to stop smoking, pick up a bundle of these and it will do the trick!

I recommend that you stop reading about cigars and start smoking them. The only way to discover what cigars you like is to smoke them. I also recommend that you buy at least two (preferably fivers) of the cigars that interest you. Magazine reviews are overrated and biased. 🌫
