Rocky Patel? Map? Give me a break! What's next? Raji's Untimely Demise? [argh]

Word got out, map is gonna spread to all the manufacturers.

Wont be long before all you can get here are the CI house blends, and Gurkha.

The frantic masses are already driving prices up too in an attempt to stock on what's left. Wild world of cigars.

Looks to me like they're trying to put cigar auctions out of business.

Or keep B&Ms in business

Each has their place in the market.

Not everyone has a local b&m.

This should happen for any cigar where the manufacturer doesn't think they need high volume Internet sales in order to move all their product. I think what's happening is that manufacturers are fine-tuning what % of production they can sell at B&M margins vs what % they need to discount to the Internet retailers.

RP Decade is a decent cigar .. I thought CA reached a little when they put this in their top 25, but then again I've never been much of a Rocky fan.

With shipping $ 12.69 for one cigar ! CI and CBID are volume sellers and should tell the MSRP the road people to hit the road. If all the volume dealers did that, sales would plummet. Of course a boycott would do an even better job if there was enough participation.

Is any of this possibly related to the FDA proposal? Isn't that supposed to have a resolution this summer?

You guys actually LOOK at prices?

I buy what I want, well what I want that my platinum membership doesn't fulfill (which isn't much).

If it gets to the point that none of my go-to's are at auction anymore, just gonna be like KPP and smoke only CCs.

It's crazy that we're in here talking about smoking CCs exclusively I bet that's not what the non Cuban manufacturers had in mind with this map bull****. Like I've said before is it better to sell here on cbid versus not sell at all.

I need to order my first box of cc's soon.

It's possible. Many Cuban cigars are already out of reach for many cigar lovers because of price. If they can drive up the price on non-Cuban cigars , they stand to make a healthy profit and still be competitive. That doesn't take into account, of course, the chitty cigars that many of them sre putting out and claiming to be "Premium" (or Super-Premium) cigars.

Ha read the reviews for ep carillo don elena on CI, half the reviews had no idea about the cigar until it made the T25 in CA.

No one gave two chits about the royale either until the ratings came out.

Joe Cigar and CI used to sell this at 10 for $40 with free shipping.

I almost pulled the trigger here for $44 for a 10er of robustos on FF. The band and the presentation is attractive it makes you think it's a good cigar, then I think Danm posted a review that said "meh" and I was glad I didn't spend the money on a RP cigar.
