Do the box codes on non-Cuban cigars corelate to each other in anyway?

I've gotten several boxes of cigars from here and both boxes have the same code on the bottom. I bought them a year apart so I doubt they are from the same lot but it would be nice because these cigars after a years rest are pretty good.

I'd like to think after another year I'd have another good box of cigars. Suck to wait a year on these just to find out they're not the same anymore.

Any idea as to what the code means on the bottom of a box of non Cuban cigars?

It would help to know the brand and code.However I'm betting if the codes were the same a year apart all it indicates is which factory it came from.

I've never seen anything more than date codes on NC boxes. I can't think of any that are rolled in more than one factory at a time. Production runs can be large, and stock can sit at a retailer for who knows how long, so they could be from the same lot. Aside from the manufacturers that market it (ie AF Don Carlos Annies or Tat La Vérité), I haven't seen much buzz about vintage for NCs.

The box code on both boxes is 8DS.

This is just a cheap box of cigars so I'm not worried or expecting much but after a year they're much improved. Wrapper had so much oil on it it looked like It had been sprayed and wiped down with cleaning oil.

If anyone would like to know the cigar mesage me for more info.

If it is just a cheap box of cigars I'd buy two boxes. One to smoke "young". If they smoke good young then I'd torch the second box. Or you can age the second box and smoke a few every once in a while and see how they are smoking. That way you will be able to judge for yourself if it is worth it to age them.

The only way to know is to do it yourself. 🌫 JMO & YMMV
