For those still searching, these are going to regular production but in different sizes and another name.

La Imperiosa Vitolas

Now the blend, which consists of an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper covering binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, returns for good. There will be four different violas at launch, all of which will be sold in boxes of 24: Corona Gorda (5 3/4 x 46), Magicos (4 1/2 x 52), Double Robusto (6 3/8 x 50) and Dukes (5 1/2 x 54). Prices for the four sizes have not been finalized, but will range from $8.25 to $9.75 each.

It absolutely doesn't bother me that CH is gonna come out with the LC 2014s as a regular production item. I'll continue to smoke the '14's that I have left and remember the people that I knew that passed away - not just in 2013 but throughout my life. Friends and family, recent and long ago. And then after I run out of the '14s, I'll smoke the '15s, and '16s and '17s and so forth and think of those people.

Don't understand the outrage? An awesome LE release makes a huge hit the first year and is put into production. Hopefully it's a win-win for all. Everyone knows there will be comparisons to the OR, and it won't be the same as the OR. If you where happy with the purchase when originally released, why get upset now? If given a choice, I'd still take a box of the OR over the new release. It will be interesting to compare all three (including the 15's).

Cigars are made for smoking - period. They are not made for collecting or investing. If that's the reason you buy cigars, then I suggest you rethink your hobby and go back to buying stocks & mutual funds for investments. CH is re-releasing a successful LE release, and in different sizes than the original release. It should be a win-win for everyone. Obviously the two releases differ beyond the tobacco used - just look at the new vitolas.

WGAF what Aging Room does! Their cigars are mediocre at best anyway. Hummels??? Who are they? Again who WGAF what some else has done in the past. Worry about the present.

I remember and appreciate smoking the last of a rare cigar, more than I remember the first one from the box. Keep it in perspective - it's just a cigar.

And the Angel's Anvil is a rehash of the four kicks mule kick........never had the mule kick and since it was LE it is nice to know that the Angel's Anvil looks to be an annual TAA release. We should be happy that cigar companies learn from their successes and constantly look to improve their product. It is a sign of a healthy industry. They have no economic incentive to come up with a great blend and then never release it again unless they don't have the tobacco.

I collect record albums because I like the music and a dilemna that I can run into is a really rare unplayed issue mint in the cellophane. I hesitate and cringe if i open it - forever destroying a rare commodity. If i already have an open copy or a later issue I play that instead. I imagine the same is with a rare cigar - though admittedly opening a record allows you to enjoy the music over and over while smoking a rare cigar is a one time deal. For those that like the music but do not want to trash the value of an unopened album can perhaps get the music digitally or an opened one in VG condition and preserve the rare unopened vinyl. Wine is probably more similar to cigars as a consumable but I know little about wine. I know someone who will drink a 75 year old bottle of wine while others would save it till it turned to vinegar.

So a reissue of a great cigar is there to be enjoyed. You can hold on to the old 2014 Las Calavaras if you want a collectible and smoke the new one instead. Whatever you want to do. I have found that music reissues have not devalued the truly rare original issues......people look at serial numbers and give widely different values to first issues vs third issues vs issues with different cover art because of the number produced. But for the most part the music remains the same. Collector or not - just enjoy great things......and if you are pissed maybe you spent too much on price gouged 2014's.

I also have no problem with people using historic airplanes or cars but replicas accommodate the demand for "the look and feel" and sure reduce the wear and tear on the originals. And the collectors don't whine unless the replica is being passed off as an original. Now if CH started producing cigars with the 2014 Las Calavaras band, then yes I would get pissed about that.

Where was all the outrage when Tat announced it was bringing back the M80??? Or is that 'OK' since the M80 is so old most folks have smoked through them. Have 6 left, and I'm not pissed they are making a comeback or worried about the 'value' of the OR. It's all a load of BS. It's just a cigar.

I think its awesome they're going to take a well loved prized smoke and make it available again. Nothing wrong with that.

And for collectors that are worried about cheapening their old stock, like Templeton said, that's not gonna happen. If it's truly a collectable, the original product is the collector's item, not the remake.

I do not worry about collecting for future monetary gain.

Last year when I won the 10 TAT Jasons in the golf tournament, I gave away 8 here to the group. Week before last I sent 5 Las Caliveras to a BOTL as a marker for future favors. Looks like it was a give away as said BOTL disappeared. I send CC's to my deserving noobs, because I want them to experience a great cigar, and have a true reference in the future if a CC is better than what their favorite smoke is.

If it is rare, I hope the person on the receiving end is appreciative of the gesture, just like I always am whenever anyone sends me some sticks of any sort.

Thanks again to Buckwheat who sent me the incredible hit with not only cc's in it, but a Fifth of Old Balvenie right after New Years. Every time I partake in something sent to me, I remember the BOTL who sent me something I might not have otherwise either been able to afford, or had the pleasure of trying.

Mountain man smacked me with my favorite weekly smoke, the CAO QUAD Extreme. Several Brothers helped me out with some Fuentes for the Chicago News reporter chick that was supposed to interview me about my rescue work. That is a subject for a different post.

If this new cigar, a supposed copy of the Las Caliveras is in deed the same tobacco, and a true Las Caliveras hiding under a new name, I am sure I will get a few for later consumption.

Enjoy what comes our way brothers, for we do not know what tomorrow holds. And thanks again for the generosity that has been shown me over the years, Mr TMCTLT. Weapon X, Chewmaise, Zody, T33bone, Darbolt, NaDill, Denis007, and Jack Campbell, Muddy 77, and Busa, and all the Anonamous Donors of the Leaf.

The rare cigars are great, but the rarer friendships count for so much more.

Oh and I would like to thank all the other people who made this possible, the mail man. the cigar rollers, CBID(high girls in the office), the growers, the pickers, the shippers.......Sorry I was having an academy awards flashback.[jester]

You are part right, I am not a wealthy person so I share my winnings. I smoked one and I have one left, gave two to the Texas guy and tossed one in with most box trades, One went to Palama with 4 other lanceros. Doesn't take long to give em all away. I actually thought the box had 15 in it, boy was I surprised when I found only one left.

I was glad when I started that I had at least one great cigar to toss in an a noob box trade. In return I have received some great return hits, guess the guys weren't disappointed. You would have to do a roll call to see who all got them, I did not keep track. I look at the cigars as an investment. I smoke the cheap ones and trade the good ones, and it seems to have worked fine, I have gotten some great cigars over the last year.

There are three of the five pre release Gurkha Abruelo's that are waiting for shipping to three very lucky people. One each to my noobs, and one to a mad pipe baccy bomber. The last one, like the last Jason is going to sleep for a few years.

Now the Cohibas I had been saving the last 8 years from a southern island CC's were sent to some noobs that were treated badly on the boards. Oddly I receives some great return hits from them, they did not deserve the crap they got dumped on them by some here on the boards. and it ran them off them off.

Dont know what Puffy got banned for but he just got a nice hit with 5 Las Caliveras 2014's , five other cigars, and a travel humidor to protect the Las Caliveras.

I look at the great RAOK's that have come my way and figure it is only fitting to follow in that great tradition.

Still waiting to hear when OPFTH is going to be taking donations. Got a LFR waiting for them. My crew all went on to their next assignments with a new 40 ct traveldor I got for them and stuffed full of cigars I had mooched for them, and a super hit Mountain man made on the crew of 111 cigars, and 4 of them got a Mug from Bur.

The neighborhood noobs and I enjoyed a Cu Avana Punisher recently with a big bowl of Elk Chilli. I am having a blast passing out some of the returns on trades. Had dinner last month at the most expensive Italian cafe in town Est 1942, with their owner Frank and paid with a Nice CC and passed out cigars to everyone at my end of the bar when the cafe closed for a little private suare~.

Haters will hate, pricks will be pricks, and I could give a rats ass. This has been the best cigar year of my life thanks to the great BOTLs on this site. 😝

Not that anyone necessarily cares but the 2014 Las Calaveras gets MY 2014 Cigar of The Year for NC cigars!!!
Smoked several early on when they first came out and really enjoyed them ( in all vitolas ) then ashed one on Fathers Day and liked it perhaps even more. Outstanding cigar IMHO

Tried one of the 2015 Las Calaveras today paired with a Founders Dirty **** at the local.

The beer was good the cigar not so much. Not quite an airball but not what I remember from the 2014s either.

Different vitolas, presumably leaves from a different growing season. Gonna be a similar cigar, but not the same cigar.

I wish Dion would do this for some of the old Illusione Singulares. I'd love a corona gorda Phantom.
