Next week the worlds best will be playing Saint Andrews course for the prestigious claret jug. American Jordan Spieth will be trying to win his third major tournament this year. A feet only a few have done. This kid has vaulted himself to the top ranks of professional golfers in the world. he seems like a very nice guy without any demons in his closet. Great role model for the next generation of golfers. Side note, Tom Watson will be playing his last British Open next week. Another great story.

Spieth wins the John Deere classic today. Guess he's on a jet heading over the pond.

Heck of a year so far, stay tuned more to come.

It is still the British Open. The media coverage does this crap cause they think it's cool. Both are acceptable this week since all golf fans know what one means when they say "the open". [ram27bat]

I'm a casual fan at best. I pay attention to the British and the Masters, but the rest of the tournements are nothing more to me than a slurry of meaningless named corporate proxy advertising whore events.

Spent 10 minutes this morning using the search function looking for "British" without the desired results. "Golf" brought back a 100+ entries.

"The Open". So golf is trying to be even more pretensious. Ahoy Palloy.

I love watching the play out of the bunkers.

"The Open" is almost as old as the course, and has been called that since it was the only open tournament.

Since they couldn't play the third round yesterday due to high winds, the final 18 holes will be played Monday. Look like a lot of guys can win the cup.

Wow a young amateur (Paul Dunne)is tie for the lead heading into the final round. That would be great to see him win. if he was to win he would not get the 1.8 million dollar pay check#-o

Jason Day and Lois Oosthuizen are also at -12. Jordon Spieth is one shot back.

Should be a great finish. Dunne is currently on the golf team at UAB and his caddie for the open is his coach who also coached GMac when he attended UAB.

I figure a few endorsements would be in line for the kid and put some cash in his flow.

Man you can grip it and rip it off most of the driver holes. These guys are spraying it in other fairways.
