A lighter shade of Padron

Think I'll have to pass on this... not a big fan of Connecticut wrappers, definitely not a fan at a $15 price point.

Based on the price point, I'd guess that Padron doesn't really care that much about the Perdomo smokers; they're aimed at people who smoke Ashton or Diamond Crown. As a line extension, it makes sense -- smokers already recognize Padron as a $20 cigar company anyway.

Interesting comment about "the best Connecticuts around" ... my list is entirely different from yours, as I've never been a big fan of Perdomo. I like a Connecticut cigar to start the day (I'll smoke 3 - 4 cigars on a work day); my favorites are Ashton Cabinet, Oliva Connecticut Reserve, and My Father.

.....My Father is an excellent smoke. As is Ashton Cabinet. Oliva is good as well but to mild for my liking. As for Perdomos, their good flavor and quality compare to them all at a cheaper price.

.....I smoked the monster 7"x54 Padron Damaso Churchill, $17.50 + tax. Unless you have a strong desire to burn every new blend made as I do avoid it and invest elsewhere. The first two blends that popped into my head as a flavor compare where the the 7"x54 Gispert Churchill and the 7.25"x54 John Bull Prime Minister, two smokeable, but very generic Connecticut wrapped blends. What a huge disappointment. I'd rate it maybe 85, compared to My Father Connecticut which I rated 94. Hell, I even rated Oliva Reserve an 88.
