I bought a box of them in Jan 2014. They've been resting since then in my Aristocrat. Had a few since and I decided to smoke one today. I guess I jumped on them when they were being offered because of all the hype.

A little more time hasn't improved these in my opinion. Leather, wood, and subtle spice and sweetness were prominent in the first half with notes of cedar and pepper. 1/2 inch in and the burn is running, and progresses to just over the thickness of the smoke. I let it go to see if it will correct, at the 1/2 way point I had to correct it. Burned to a slanted orientation shortly after that and progressed for the remainder of the cigar. The band had been glued to the wrapper so when the burn got there cracks developed. The profile was somewhat consistent throughout, but nothing really stood out about this cigar.

Cosmetically it was a good looking cigar. I was expecting a top of the line smoke. I hadn't smoked one in maybe a year and I couldn't remember why I hadn't smoked one for quite a while. Well now I think I know why...

Disappointing to say the least. I'm interested in any other opinions on the Four Kicks.

If you want to go with Crowned Heads, I'd say Las Calaveras is the best option.

I liked the Jericho hill, and I just tried the 2015 las calaveras at my local last week, not a bad stick, but not memorable either, just kind of meh

I like the Corona much better than the Sublime.
At $2.60/ea....I tend to keep a fiver of the Coronas on hand most of the time.
I have had some tar issues with both vitolas.........but not a deal breaker for me........yet.......I'm assuming I got a few funky fivers.

Just finished a Sublime a few hours ago....no tar....somewhat of a ragged burn (two corrections)....perfect draw, tons of smoke. Flavor profile pretty much as you described, and last third kicked up some strong traditional tobacco notes.

Paid $2.40 for it.........I'll do it again at that price.

Enjoyed the Las Calaveras and just bought a fiver of the La Imperiosa that's the return of the 2014 Calaveras for regular production. Gonna be lighting one of those when I get home. Paid $39 shipped.

The Four Kicks didn't really do much for me but they can be had pretty cheap and aren't bad. If you get em under $3/ea they play well in that price range.

Landed a box of Jericho Hill 44s a while back on auction for $100 and are decent at that price, though a bit heavier than I prefer.

The Headley Grange Lonsdale and lancero are some great cigars, but I've only had 2 or 3 of each and none left.

Can't really say any of them are right in line with what I like, with the Headley Grange coming in closest. But I've not had any that didn't burn right, they've been a strong performer. A bit more costly than I think they're worth at retail but get em on auction or sale and I'll buy.

Have been working my way through a box of Robusto's - not a bad smoke and a decent price. I like 'em for a round of golf as they burn slow and don't go out too easily. Robbies are generally as big as I like to go on smokes in general, but enjoy some Toro's, Lonesdales, etc. depending on the smoke.

I'd be willing to trade you some and do a compare between the Robbie and the Sublime. Let me know, you can get rid of a few of them and I'm sure I'll have something in your wheelhouse to trade.
