Just received a box of Cuba Libre Coronas. This was about the third or fourth box I have bought from C-bid. Unlike the other boxes, this one wasn't sealed. I lit up the first stick and it, unlike all the cigars in the other boxes, started to unravel. This leads me to believe (I don't know for sure) that an empty box was filled with cigars that had been laying around. Sounds like something the T-Company in Florida does on a regular basis, losing a lot of customers in the process and gaining one of the worst reputations in the business. To be fair; I could be wrong. I'm just guessing.

Just curious, but have you already contacted customer service about this?

You bought 3 or 4 boxes of those ?

They must have been out of Sabor del Ano.

Their warehouse tends to keep things on the humid side, so I doubt it's a "storage conditions" issue. And if they're kept loose that in and of itself has no bearing on construction/burn issues. Also repackaging a box like that is labor intensive ($$$) unless you hire slaves (which I think that schitty outfit in Florida might).

More importantly than Abrinac's question, you posting this after smoking ONE?

One bad cigar out of 3+ boxes of Cuba Libre is actually pretty impressive.

If you NEVER want problems, buy Padron or Fuente.

Amen to this. This, among other reasons, is why I don't smoke cheap cigars. I'd rather smoke only 1 or 2 a week and KNOW they are going to be good, than jack around with bargain barrel crap that I later have to mow over. .

Maybe not calling it dog **** but hey why do anything right since this thread is a blaring example of what not to do when you have a problem w cbid. Certainly not use it as an excuse to compare cbid to another questionable competitor before cbid customer service has had the chance to make it right.

if you won a box of t52s and you were having this problem, maybe. but with more budget engineered cigars qc is often lacking (as someone who enjoys a wide range of various sticks i can certainly attest to this)

Shhhh.....these are actually great one dollar cigars. I've bought many boxes of them. Still do, on occasion. Perfect for fishing. Meets all my criteria for fishing cigars; cheap, box pressed so they don't roll around the boat, can leave them hanging out of my mouth for long time without getting sour or wonky, and taste quite decent.

I also said "I could be mistaken." My purpose was to see if anyone else had noticed this. If they had, I might then have made an "accusation" (exactly what, I'm not sure at this point.) Incidentally, to the other posters who knocked Cuba Libre-Perhaps you have mixed them up with "Free Cuba." Two different brands. Unlike their higher-priced brothers, I have never had a Cuba Libre unravel on me, a cap dissolve or have had little bits of tobacco stranded in my mouth after each puff. They always have had an even burn, nice aroma and a great taste (including a nice long finish.) No, they are not Padrons, Fuentes or Cubans or even an Illusione but, for the price, there is nothing even close. If you don't like them, it is a matter of taste and so be it. Nobody is asking you to buy them. As far as calling customer service; so far, only one cigar out of 20 were bad.But if significantly more (5 or more) exhibit the same problem, it is my last box from c-bid. I have already (over the years) dropped three other on-line purveyors for the same reason.

A tempest in a teapot. About half-way through the box and the rest of them seem to be ok.
