I've seen the success of the wounded warrior thing and was hoping we could expand it to lawyers as well.

As we lawyers know, now that economy is "getting better," there is more money to go around and thus there have been fewer people trying to pry dollars out of others' hands through the use of lawsuits. Bankruptcy lawyers, trial lawyers, even class-action lawyers have all seen a decrease in revenue over the past year.

Unfortunately, this has caused a decrease in lawyer fees with the result that lawyers can't buy and enjoy as many cigars as they used to. I'm sadly in this boat as well.

So I'm wondering if we could get someone to organize a Cigars For Lawyers drive and start shipping cigars to needy attorneys. We could start by identifying solo- and small-firm practitioners and sending them a care package of cigars. Just to let them know that we understand their difficulties and that there are people out there who care.

If that's successful then we can expand it to biglaw associates and perhaps even partners.

Who's with me????

I'd love to accept cigars as payment but most people would probably try to pay with Gurkahs.... 😞

I guess it all depends on if Wunky (if that IS your real name, HA!) is an attorney.

The average salary for a lawyer in 2014 was approximately 77K. Now if you follow a proper budget, I'm sure you could afford cigars.

Or am I missing something.
