gotta be Bruce Arians...I assume even jealous idiots know who is #1.

Obviously Indy did the honorable thing (and honor is not their M.O.) when their coach beat cancer, but they must have known what they were losing.

I may be spelling his name incorrectly, but he did a great job filling in for the Colts, and has been outstanding in Arizona, and in a league aiming for mediocrity. I'm not saying this because of what's going on so far tonight against Seattle either.

Coughlin may be underrated at this point, but he has the Giants straightened out despite today's heart breaker.

Are there any other candidates?

Al I got to say is......If the best coach in the NFL ever retires I want the Patriots to at least look at Art Briles before hiring some NFL coach that has consistently lost to Bill.

Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the job John Fox has done with the Bears. A transition year with the number one pick out, and a 4-3 defense cobbled into a 3-4. Special Teams has been a disaster, but the team hasn't given up in ANY game. If the idiot owners stay outta the way it could be a bright future.

All I gotta say is it was fun to see the Seattle 12th man with a whole bunch of STFU on their faces.

I am kind of shocked at how the Bears are doing this year but I don't expect any huge leaps forward with this team any time soon. I still feel he was the safe hire at coach and the Bears were scared after Trestman to go anywhere but safe. Don't expect them to move past G.B. any time soon which bugs me cause it gets tiring losing to them every year.

Another bonehead move by Bronco's ownership IMO.Oh well their loss is your gain.......I could see the Bears busting 500 before the end of the decade.Hell if the rest of the NFC Central keeps heading in the direction it is now I could see a possible wildcard game or two in the future for the Bears.

Well honestly is nice to see them not quit. I think most sports fans can take some losing much easier when their team is putting forth effort.

let me just clarify I do not mean the city of Indy, the players, or the coaches. I mean ownership and front office.

so, someone already mentioned moving in the middle of the night...that's not generally considered honorable. You excused it indicating Irsay had reason to fear the repercussions of being honorable. Sounds like cowardice, which is also not honorable.

Other teams have moved in broad daylight in all major sports. Just two or three I can think of have sneaked out of town under the cover of darkness and are considered less than honorable (eg Modell is still hated in Cleveland), so why should Irsay get a pass?

Speaking of the Irsays, Little Tiger has enough "issues" going on in his private life to...well let's just say you and I would be doing 5 to 10 in jail if it were us. I mean, not just the drugs, a dead woman in his apartment/drug haven! Also not considered honorable behavior by most people, I'm sure you agree.

Front office with a history of pushing for rule changes to benefit their team while on the committee that decides such things...resulting today in such great stuff as:

all the defensive pass interference/illegal use of hands/defensive holding calls on toooo many pass plays cuz Peyton's receivers couldn't run free against the Pats earlier in the century. Boo hoo. Self-serving use of their position of power in regarding rules is not exactly honorable when it gives your team a decided edge.

I'm sure this last point is just one of the reasons you are no longer much of a pro football fan anymore. You can thank the hometown team's front office.
