This reminds me of a Homeland Security/TSA annoyance I have.

Anyone ever tried putting shampoo in a small bottle and bringing it through TSA? They literally will not allow it to go through unless you have written "Shampoo" on the bottle. As if a terrorist is unable to write "Shampoo" on a 2oz liquid bomb...

Incidentally, this policy was put in place under the Bush jr administration. So we have a true to life literal example of that screening methodology being put in place by a different doofus.

The picture must contain the original typo, on the real form both boxes would say no

It has been sometime since I heard the blame it on Bush excuse. Guess you are a little behind on current events.

If you think that said "blame Bush" then you can't read.

When I flew back from WI last year I brought home a variety of cheese and curds in my carry-on. Obviously it was seen on the x-ray and the guy asks if I have cheese in my luggage. Yep.
The bag was pulled aside to get inspected and get the bomb residue swipe thing.

I guess they need to make sure it’s cheese not plastic explosives.

Can you imagine how many bags they need to inspect per day from people flying out of WI with cheese?

They also confiscated my bottle of homemade maple syrup that Rocky gifted me. I guess they don’t like unlabeled bottles of amber liquid either.

Was it in your carry on? Or checked luggage?

If it was carry on, then it was probably because it was over the 3oz limit. If it was luggage, ya got me, because I transport unlabeled mason jars of sauces, preserves, etc, all the time in my checked luggage. It gets searched every time by TSA, but I've never lost a bottle or jar.

I knew there was a chance it might get taken but I had to try it anyway. I told the guy I'll taste some and he could taste some to prove it wasn't anything hazardous but it was a no go. He wasn't a jerk about it, just doing his job.

Even before homeland security and 9/11, it was generally considered verboten to carry 32 oz of unlabeled amber liquid.

Tried with a couple bottles of home brew. Back before the craze was nationwide. My guy in Wisconsin (coincidence) made them and gave me some.

Had to leave them behind.
