My digital hygrometer has been reading perfect 69% for awhile now. I just opened my humidor for the first time in a couple weeks and noticed some condensation on my cellophane on the cigars sitting on the top shelf below the humidifier. Should I be worried about this? I am fairly new to having my own humidors and this is the first time I've rani to this. I appreciate any thoughts or tips if or if not this is a problem. Thanks guys!!!

Condensation?

What type of humidity are you using? A garden hose?

I'm just using the Humidor-care HX10 crystal gel rectangle humidifier on the lid of the humidor with a Boveda 69 packet under the tray.

I've seen a slight haze on the inside of the cellophane with some cigars I've bought. I figured they were overly humidified when I put em in there. Also, i have a pretty cold storage area, rarely over 60F. I do have a box that all the cello was hazy whitish and it never went away. The cigars were/are very oily, and I think it was just the oils discoloring the cello.

I'd recommend ditching the gel media, and just stick with bovedas though. But having the boveda in there with the gel is better than the gel alone.

I'd not worry too much about it unless it's a recurring or persistent issue. Might want to remove the cello, or cut off the folded end of the cello to expose the foot and allow more air exchange.

Is your hygrometer digital or analog?
When was it last calibrated?
69RH, even if correct, is too high for me
Should you be worried about condensation?....uh, yeah...water condenses when the relative humidity is like around .........100%

If your hygrometer is analog get a digital one.

I've had this same issue with the gel beads. I think they're releasing too much water. I haven't had much problem, just be sure to keep the cellos sealed and faced down otherwise water can creep into the cello and harm your tobacco. Once you've cleaned it up I would consider a better quality humidifier.

That's what I was thinking jjanecka. I was wondering if it was releasing too much and basically dripping on the cigars directly below the humidifier. Those are the only sticks that had some dampness on them.
