I've got a 1984 ezgo golf cart that I'm refurbishing after the engine went out last spring. Instead of just rebuilding the engine I decided to repaint it, the cart was an ugly mix of baby blue with red wheel inserts and a red ezgo logo on the hood. I popped the ezgo logo off the hood, welded the holes shut and ground/sanded them smooth. New paint is sky blue with pumpkin orange. The paint scheme is modeled after the Gulf Oil paint scheme made popular by the iconic Ford GT40.

Please cut and paste the link to see the picture post and read the story of the repaint that I just completed today. Lots of pictures!!!

Now to rebuild the engine and get back out to playing some golf!!!! I really had lost motivation but after getting sick I'm finally feeling better and am getting some projects that have been sitting unfinished completed!!!

Thanks for looking!

So cool. Looks great.

Fun fact: I worked in the factory that supplied all the hinges for EzGo from 01-07.

I want a golf cart for a pit vehicle for track days. We rented a bunch last year for our big event, and it was pretty awesome. Want one for trackdays and camping and screwing around in the yard.

Thank you.

Yeah I've already thought about how am I going to fit this on the trailer when I get my NASA AI Mustang

race car rebuilt. Only one solution 28' enclosed!!!! Until then my bicycle will just have to do. A bike is a life saver though, saves tons of steps on a race weekend.

That's neat about the past job too.

Now to just pull the motor and rebuild it. All 1 cylinder of it.

I have a kinda regular size (dunno length, it fits a fullsize pickup) open trailer. Previous owner used it with a fox body drag car, and hauled a cart side loaded on the front of the trailer, with Mustang strapped behind. Not sure how, though I don't know the wheelbase of a Mustang, but a pit bike strapped in the front puts the rear wheels of a Civic about 1' in front of the dovetail. I assume the stang sat with the rear end at the very end tip of the trailer.

Bought steel channel to weld into the frame so I could add a few feet to fit a cart easily, but figure I shouldn't make the mod until I find a cart.. Plus, I just replaced the deck in 2012, don't wanna hack it up so soon, especially since I no longer own my own track rat, and just do support for others. Really just need room for a cart at this point.

Nice Paint job! 1984......now thats a vintage restoration. I have an 1998 clunker that i thought was old. It could use a paint job but unless i do it frame on, i will have to drill out all the bolts, even the aluminum ones.

For all of you not affected by salt, mud and rust, the EZ go is nice. Especially if all you are doing is golfing and you garage it. Club Car is the way to go if you are around rough terrain or store outside because despite many rustable parts like axles and spring, it at least has an aluminum frame rather than steel.

I drive a 98 ez-go also... been garage kept most of it's life but it's bounced off some stuff over the years... been wanting to do the lift kit thing but haven't pulled the trigger yet. ...

I've seen several car haulers that have the rails cut out of the front right so they can drive golf carts up and on from the side.. just need some ramps... 🍺

That's exactly how mine is setup. Plus a channel welded on to take the lip of the car ramps, on the side of the trailer.

That would work on my trailer but I've got a tire rack bolted up on the front end, bought it from a dirt track racer. Very nicely made tire rack with aluminum diamond plate across the front to act as a wind break on the car. Can't loose the rack or else I can't haul spares and rain tires.

So the f***ing stupid hacks at my work where Im restoring my cart, got the idea last night after sitting around drinking beers to hide my cart from me and make me think the shop got broken into and that my cart got stolen.

Stress is a big factor that can cause the shingles disease to reemerge.

So for the hour that this prank went on I was a nervous stressed out wreck. There's been a lot of stuff stolen locally in the past year. We have cameras but they told me they were left off by accident when our electrician was there the other day working.

My boss told me the sheriffs office called him at 2am and that the shop door was wide open. At first the only thing I saw missing was our small enclosed trailer. Then I saw my golf cart was gone too. Sun shade was still there but the cart was gone.

I called my friend who is the under sheriff and he came right out started filing out a report. Now get this the sonsofbitches even called the sheriff to let him know they were pulling this prank on me, he was supposed to tell the undersheriff but I guess he was too busy doing **** that actually mattered. I dunno but if you have to call the cops to accomplish your practical joke I think there are lines being crossed.

I get the cart back and am unloading it when I see the nice hand print on the hood in the clear coat. I used some final inspection quik detailer but the clear coat is scuffed. There was a layer of fine dust on it when these hacks pushed it into the trailer. I was livid, still am I just get this done and these few no talent hacks have to **** with me? Seriously?

So best of all by this point I called the ENT Dr, becuase I am very worried that my ear will start hurting over the weekend. Another trip to the dr, $70 co-pay, $15 co-pay for the new meds, 4 hours missed from work and a half a tank of gas. I figure this prank of theirs cost me about $185.

Worst of all while my face is healing I'm not drinking so I can't even have a beer to relax from this **** day.

The prank went too far, especially with your condition. But at least I can now think back on the worst practical joke we aborted midway and realize it wasn't half this bad. We had invented a fake character and fake website convincing a friend he was going to get a huge sponsor for his race car. It was going to culminate with a cop busting them both for money laundering just as they met in person for the first time as the check was handed to him. We chickened out.
