The 2000 was below par compared to LFD's other lines, imho. I dunno about "fallen from grace" since I'm not sure if the 2000 was ever a highly touted smoke. Do they mean the 2000, or the entire brand?

Made by Litto Gomez in the Dominican Republic, La Flor Dominicana is one of the finer cigars being made today, despite the fact that it has fallen from grace a bit. The 2000 Series is rolled with an Habana 2000 wrapper - a hybrid of Havana seed tobacco and Connecticut shade. The result is a spicy, reddish-brown wrapper very close in appearance and flavor to Cuban cigars, yet the leaves are very smooth like Connecticut shade leaf. Sort of the best of both worlds. Taken in combination with the excellent craftsmanship and well-aged vintage fillers, the 2000 series is a remarkably delicious smoke. Medium-bodied in strength.
