Can anyone share some info about Don Lucas Cigars? Like are they good , bad, what your over all thoughts on their smokes. There's an event down the road from where I live with them there. I've never had or seen anything by them.

Never had one. But, FYI/SA: You may find an exception some day, but a general rule of thumb: "if a cigar has 'Don' in the name, steer clear" ....even the rare decent one, e.g., Don Carlos, is widely considered to be overpriced. By and large, however, suckage.

Don Diego cigars are good, mild, well made DR stix.

But, yep, in general, obey the Don Rule.

Yes they are from dr, supposedly a small shop. I'm not sure if it's the first time they have been available outside of there or not.

Never heard of Don Ramon. As for Don Pepin, I never had a bad one. However, I never had one that I thought was worth close to retail. I got a box of JJ maduro robs on clearance (1/2 off) nearly 10 years ago that were pretty good, IIRC. Had a few blues that were good after cooling their heels for 24+ months. You can have the rest.

Smoke what you like. Like what you smoke. Try one(don't get box crazy) and formulate an opinion.

I know it's a pricy one, and we'll by gosh do they even make them any more? Think it was a year or so ago when I had one...
Maybe longer ago, I used to walk into a cigar shop, look around for 5+ minutes to buy 1 cigar and smoke it right then and there.

Thanks smokeyou, 5's and samples to get a broad range of smokes to try. Figured with the 5 I could sit on few if I didn't like them, and see if they change with age. Any other suggestions or advice?

With beer I would always buy bombers in 3s...1 to drink, 1 to share, and 1 to compare.
