It's funny. I never met Wheel. Only interacted with him a few times on here. But as I sip the swill as he would have called it, I find myself thinking about him and Nurse Terri. We should all be so fortunate to have an impact on people with such little effort.

Wheel - if I could buy Dripping Springs in Alabama (thanks draconian Southern drinking laws!), I would - not because I like it more than Tito's. Just to remember.

Same here.

The Mrs. likes an occasional screwdriver and we had been through several brands before she announced she likes Tito's. I've met Bill and we talked, exchanged emails and pm's here as well and I know that he could ruffle feathers and sometimes it was all a game to see who got bent. When he said that about Tito's I asked him offline if he really thought that it was swill because I had bought less expensive and I bought even more that was more expensive. His reply was a "drink what you want and like what you drink".

I miss him and his jackassery. RIP ya Dallas Cowboy jackass.

Amen, DMV. While I prefer Belvedere typically, Tito's makes a brilliant screwdriver. I think it's because it's a little rough around the edges. Kind of like someone we miss here...

I feel the same way and also about gins that are in mixed drinks...the super smooth ones are excellent for straight up, martinis, or on the rocks but the rough edged ones are better for tonic or whatever else you like as a mixer.

As far as Dripping Springs goes, Tyyler, who used to be active here, sent me some. Good for sure, but not Belvedere. I always thought Wheel was just rooting for the home team when he spoke of D.S.

Wheel was fun on the forum, but I miss Bill at the restaurant, having a smoke and a bluecheese martini. Who cares the brand, just keep em coming.

We still haven't been back to the restaurant. Can't seem to do it. One of these days.

Wheel....quite the character. Miss him here with us.

Not to besmirch our fine and revered brother....but wasn't he a Titos fan before he became an advocate for DS?

Titos is fine with a mix or blue cheese olives but Belvidere is my choice.

Dripping Springs is a suburb of Austin on the southwest side of town. Titos is made in Austin. so, not much of a difference in locale.

I usually buy Dripping Springs just because it is the "littler" guy. Not a huge vodka connoisseur and mine is always mixed with something else.
