He opened for Aerosmith at Shoreline Ampitheatre.....some time in the mid 90s, took my wife on a date.......and she wasn't to sure about seeing an "old" man band.

Fans were milling about, waiting for the real show, but after the second song, he had the crowd's attention, and admiration. He kicked azz, made a lot of new fans that night.
Also, we got lucky, cause Aerosmith was "on" that night as well.......they put on a hell of a show, and the wife became an Aerosmith fan.

As I sit and smoke my El Brujito, my memory kicked in..............I'm pretty sure Steven Tyler yelled out to the audience something like "can you believe this kid is only 16 years old?!!"............when he was giving props to Lang.

Johnny is good. Stevie was the BEST. This is one of his best songs. I love it.

I would add three more to the list, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jeff Healy, and Johnny Winter.

Been listening to Johnny Lang for years. Pretty dang good.

If you like Lang you have to try Kenny Wayne Shepherd but, don't stop there. Look up Derek Trucks, Tedeschi Trucks
Band to be specific. Might be the best slide player to come around since Johnny Winter.

Chris Duarte isn't too shabby either but, a completely different style of blues.

Joe Bonamassa, very over rated IMHO. Not a huge fan of his style. He did learn from the
very best, however, and that would have been Danny Gatton.

I have a part to install that lowers my trigger release from 7 1/2 lbs to 4 1/2 lbs. The Glock trigger isn't bad at all, it's striker mechanism has a cold feel to it compared to my H&K or any "regular" DA trigger. And with the mag extension the grip is much better than some other pocket pistols I've looked at.

Nearly 20 years ago, Columbia House CD Club ("8 CD's FOR A PENNY!!) sent me Lie to Me by accident (instead of either RATM Evil Empire or Tool AEnima, IIRC.)

I looked at the track list and when I read "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl", I thought wtf is this?? Audio kiddie porn?

Called Columbia House and they told me to keep it. After one listen, I was hooked. No way this kid was 15! Tons of talent. First couple albums are his best.

Geeeeeez....Joe Bonamassa...."yawn"

"Wow Joe you play crap written 70 years ago real good...I know they are originals but my statement stands"....

Good player but come up with something. He is like the guitar version of Tony Royster Jr. Way ahead of their age early, major hype....turned out to be quality musicians and all...but not all that outstanding.

RIP Mr SRV....you have set the bar to high

That's awesome news.

I've been too busy and haven't picked up a bass in a long time. Too much to do out in the country!

Still playing with the same band?
