Please keep my family in your prayers. The last time I went by our home, it was under 6 feet of water. We live in Denham Springs, LA. Our entire community is under water.

Last night I served my community as a reserve officer We live on one of the highest ridges in town. We've had two previous floods lone in 1977 and1 in 1894. The area were we lived was never in danger before.

As I was returning home around 5:30 AM my wife called to tell me there was a couple inches of water in our house. Our cat had woken her up. By the time I was able to get to my family the water was waist deep in our home.

I was able to get my family to a shelter by commandeering a boat piloted by a brave individual named Josh. After I got my family to high ground, Josh and I rescued a few hundred people from flood waters. Some who were wading in chest deep water and being swept off their feet by strong currents and water that was rising 6-8 inches per hour.

It was a beautiful thing to see. Dozens of boats piloted by people who took it upon them selves to help because that was what was needed. Race wasn't considered, nor were politics. Just people during everything the could to save those who were unable to save themselves.

Sorry for rambling but I'm very emotional right now. Though we lost everything I feel blessed that we are reunited and alive.

Damn Anthony I knew you said it was getting bad when we talked last night but I never thought it would end like this, I never even thought that you were worried about your situation.
I know I can't do much with the distance between us but don't hesitate to call me if you need anything. I'll do what I can to help brother!
