I just figured out that I can't post multiple pictures. So instead of replying to my original post with the rest of the story and more pix, I am doing this part 2 post. Sorry, folks. I'm still a newb.

When I removed the tray, I saw what was in pic A.

All of the smokes in the top shelf and the bottom looked interesting, with some that might even be quality. The Ashtons without the cello look particularly interesting.

The seller cautioned me that there hadn't been a humidification device in the humidor "for some time now." But since this is the Pacific Northwest, I thought that their life in the humidor might not have been too bad, even without a humidification device. Without a second thought, I bought everything for $30. When I got home I popped in my calibrated hygrometer and found that the humidity in the humi was between 65 and 70. Seal did not look amazing, but the humidity gave me some hope that the cigars might not be in terrible shape.

I've moved them all to my humidor for a rest and potential rehab, as you can see in pic B.

Now here are my noob questions: What do you think for $30, trash or treasure? How can I check the condition of my new friends to find out if they need rehabbing? And if they do, can they be saved? And if they can be saved, am I doing it correctly?

TIA

The beads look about 50/50 white and clear. If that's how you found them you should be good.

Looks good like treasure to me, the cigars should be fine from guessing and the provided info and they are worth well over the $30.

Beads are from my humi. That pic was of their rehab setup.

The odyssey is $20 if you can find one, the hemis are $8-12 ea. Ashton's are $10-15ea. You may even like the hoyo at $5ish. I'd say you easily got $200-300 worth of you bought singles, at retail.

Wow! Sounds like I might finally have some non-newb smokes in my inventory.

I'm going to let them rest for 60 days @ 65 degrees and 65% humidity, then will check them out. I just might have something to trade. I know who's first on my payback list!

Any idea of the humidor's manufacturer?

Very good score! 👍

Those Fuentes have the older band so they're at least 5 years old.

Why did you take the cap off of the Monte Tubo? 🌫

P.S. Nice selection you've got there.

Thx. I uncapped the Monte because I was on a rehab roll. If, for some reason, it needed rehabbing along with the others, resting for 60 days at 65 deg & 65% in my humi might help it, too. If it had never been uncapped & didn't need rehabbing, I figured that the uncapped rest in my humi wouldn't hurt it.

Probably Noob talk, I know.

Palama: Sweet! Thx for the link.

DmD: I'm away from home for a few days, pecking this out on my phone. Google hasn't been my investigative friend when it comes to trying to find the manufacturer based on the pix I have. I'll have to check for identifying marks and do a better search when I get home.

looks Like you have some Don Carlos #4's. There was a recall on these a few years back for being too delicious. Luckily for you I have a special container for proper disposal.

You probably should give the dude another $30.

Yeah... You guys are starting to make me feel guilty.

I think I will work through my guilt by doing the following:

1. Enjoying a fine cigar with friends this evening.
2. Pay it forward with some righteous bombing.
3. Include a few of these in my bombing after they are done resting.

So, after studying both pics, inventorying the contents and consulting with several experts, I don't think this comes close to qualify for rehab for ya, NWStogie. You need a much larger stash and several humidors and tubadors to require any sort of CAD or TAD therapy.

Oh wait, you were wondering if the cigars needed rehab…
