seriously, what's so great about not being able to play a musical instrument?

I LOVE acapella! The human voice IS an instrument and being able to carry a tune without any accompliment is a true talent. Try and give it another listen.

Done well, that stuff is awesome. When Shannen was at MIT we went to some amazing acapella concerts. Will say, I prefer an instrument in the band.

I've heard enough in my lifetime to know I'll never like it palama... my parents were big fans... everytime i hear an acapella version of a song I think 2 things... 1, sounds like we're at a high school choir concert... 2, that would've sounded better with instruments accompanying... i also don't consider recorded acapella music to be worth anything unless it was recorded live... you can't call something acapella when you're using a computer to auto tune your voice... that's called computer music...

Fair enough Joel. 😎

I think for me, 'cause I worked in the retail music biz, enjoy most forms of music (...other than rap...).

I went on a few dates with a gal a year and a half ago that was part of an Acapella group. She was a great singer and had a good sounding troup. The did all the 40's and 50's style songs, it was actually pretty impressive.

I get that... i use to make a similar claim about being able to understand the appeal behind most forms of music, modern day country being the obvious exception... then i started discovering stuff like patagonian throat singing... and Cher... i don't make that claim anymore...

My dislike of acapella has a lot more to do with the people involved in the acapella culture than the music itself, although I've still never heard a song and thought, "that would sound so much better without instruments"...

I only know what that is because Flula Borg is in the sequel and he was on Conan Obrien recently... and although i didnt know who flula borg was, it turns out he is downright hilarious in many ways... Why do you know what that is?

My opinion? Thanks for asking. Unplugged acoustic versions of groups like Alice In Chains, Corey Taylor, FFDP, Chris Cornell make me wonder why they ever plugged in at all. Corey Taylor and Aaron Lewis covering Alice In Chains a few years ago on New Year's Eve may be the best music I've ever heard.

I saw the first movie. Did not see the second.

The first one has Anna Kendrick... and a couple other hotties.

I appreciate it in small samples, especially during the holidays. The harmonies and percussive sound of multiple voices blending together tweaks some pleasure sensations in my inner ear, but only for a little while.
