2016 has been a pretty rough year for my wife's family and ours as well.

My mother-in-law got rushed to the ER in an ambulance on Wednesday due to not being able to breath and felt like she couldn't move. She got admitted for pneumonia and have her on a ton of meds. While running tests, they found a spot on her lung and they believe it to be cancerous. They are doing a biopsy today to find out for sure, but given her many years of smoking, they aren't expecting good results. The only positive is that the spot is really small and they feel they can remove it completely. Still a very scary situation. It may have been a God-send that she got so sick she had to go to the ER.

That on top of my brother-in-law's house burning down and continued issues with my other brother-in-law's health. The youngest brother, 18, is epileptic and has been in and out of the hospital all year. He even got so sick that he lost his ability to walk for a couple months and had to relearn to walk. He was just back in the ER a month ago due to a seizure that stopped his breathing for a few minutes. It was a really long seizure, maybe the worst he has ever had. He is doing alright now, but there is always continued worry about his health.

This has obviously caused a lot of stress for our family, however, I have severe anxiety issues and this has really beaten me down. My anxiety causes increased acid levels which causes my reflux to go off the charts. I had surgery to help correct my reflux issues a couple years ago, but unfortunately all this stress has made it flare up pretty bad. It is a vicious circle because my reflux causes me even more anxiety because the pain gets so bad that it feels like I am having a heart attack. I have been in and out of the ER quite a few times the last few years, most recently a few weeks ago.

Hopefully 2017 will prove to be a better year for all of us.

Just wanted to share because it helps with my anxiety. Thanks for reading/listening.

I hear you on the reflux. Had a diagnostic cath done a few years ago because of chest pains and blood pressure surges but it all came up negatory and the doctor was baffled.

Hang in there Hank; I had a lot of family issue going on about four-five years ago plus money woes and it was a real struggle. Anxiety is very difficult to manage; it takes a lot of discipline. I'll be quite honest, at least in my case it became so frequent I just got numb to all of it. The only thing you can do is hope that there's someone to keep pushing you to get you through it. The worst was seeing my grandma get treated the way she did by grandpa and her aunts when she was on her way out. One of them just looked at her and said, "Ok momma, just hurry up and die already." She was laid up from parkinson's and couldn't talk anymore. She stayed that way for months until she passed. Find a good priest or a pastor; cling to your wife/girlfriend for guidance. You'll will more than likely not get the answer you're hoping for but you'll find small successes and victories. God bless you and may peace come to your house.

Correction Gene, Latin and Greek are Superior. Syriac and Aramaic are Exceptional. Hebrew is from the mouth of God.

Red sauce often has bell pepper and yogurt is rotten milk, two widely used foods often toxic to a lot of folks.

Now, too much beer can cause me a lot of issues because of the carbonation mostly. Due to my surgery, I have problems with gas build up in my stomach. Not fun.

Hank, I suffered with bad anxiety many years ago. Doctor put me on Sertraline. Take it every morning. Haven't had any problem since.

Hank if you still are feeling anxious after a month I would tell your doctor so he can increase the dosage.
