Noob question to all you Cbid veterans out there - how often, if ever, does this site offer up anything Padron or should I just forget the idea of ever catching a deal on even some 2000's, 3000's, etc (I'm guessing there's never going to be 26's or 64's, right?) -and the way people seem to bid here, probably would end up higher then CI retail anyway, amiright? 🤦

The reason I ask is I am looking to pull the trigger on a few full boxes of Padron's (thousand series, 26, 64, etc) but wondering if with a little patience I might score a bargain here eventually. I'm in no hurry to get them so I can wait if there are occasions where they show up AND offer a decent discount.

Maybe I am wrong but my noob perception is that Cbid is mostly a clearing house for some overstock and lots of dogrockets but maybe they purposely put really good stuff on here once in a while just to keep people coming back? Part of my perception may be that I don't really know a lot of good cigars. I am new enough to this that I really only know the more obvious mainstream hits and stuff that recently scored high on CA as I have started reading those top 25 reviews.

...which also makes me wonder: What are some of the more surprising cigars you all have seen show up here on occasion - surprising as in really good stuff not surprising really bad stuff.

And I understand "good" is a subjective term. "One mans dog rocket may be another mans favorite", I'm talking general consensus here.

Well the story is that Padron and a few other like AF hate discount and bidding sites and that they require sellers (and their parent companies like CI) to maintain the MSRP on the cigars or they wont be able to get them anymore. HOWEVER, you can find discounts on these on other sites at times (albeit rather modest discounts) and even another - unnamed - AUCTIONEER type site that often has Padrons, sometimes the lower level ones sometimes sample packages. They are never huge amounts lower than MSRP it seems but at least a bit cheaper. So how do they do it but cbid can't? not sure.

They technically can't sell Padrons here anymore due to MAP pricing set by the Padron.

Luckily, cigarbid found a way around this. They take the Padrons out of their boxes, unband them and then sell them in wheels of 40 for cheap. Sizes are all the same just go look. I've got a wheel of 40 that I'm pretty sure are Padron 1964 maduro exclusivos for $80!!!!!

Google is your best friend when it comes to learning about cigars. Do your own research, there is no such thing as a special membership here or 40 count wheels of Padrons that are missing the band.

This is the Troll stronghold of the internet, and most of these guys think of it as a fraternity and Co*kmoron is the troll greeter. They get their kicks by giving people the wrong info and of course hazing.

Some guys help but that is really few and far between, especially if you're new. Make sure you verify the things that people tell you... It's really up to you.

Also, not sure if you realize it but the Cbid site took a dump on February 10th and it still isn't working right, so I wouldn't bid on anything until you see that people have stopped whining about their orders not being shipped, processed etc here on the discussion board.

Take care
