Good advice (on both counts). I've smoked Montecristo #2's that were anywhere from off-the-truck to 40 years old. Anything less than a couple years of age seems like a waste, and they get better for a long time. The last Really Old Cigar I smoked was a 1980 Bolivar, and it was special. Admittedly, aging that long can be a crapshoot ... I also have some stuff I should've smoked five years ago.

Split your "good cigar" budget between stuff you can smoke fresh and stuff you're going to age. By the time you're an Old Retired Dude (like me), you'll have a few really nice vintage cigars available for special occasions.
