A show on A&E.

Watched in disbelief.
-No discipline.
-Kids allowed to stare at their cellphones while teaching is going on.
-Little civility.

Feel for the few good kids trying to find their way through the gauntlet.

The premis of the show is seven, young looking adults go under cover as students to see the challenges kids have.

Going to watch the second episode next week. Not sure I can bring myself to watch another.

I know I won't watch this........too close to home.
So, I come out of college in 1978 as a teacher, and start teaching high school.
In those days, teachers still had control, and some respect, especially if you were fair, and at least pretty good at your craft.
However, even then, the pay was shyte, and I wanted more for myself.....went back to school....started a different career, blah blah....

Fast forward to 2013, and I'm semi-retired, have time and the interest/curiosity.......so I re- activate my credential and start substitute teaching high school again.
Now keep in mind I raised 2 kids who graduated high school in 2012 and 2014.......so I wasn't totally out of the loop.
But holy carp..............it's a different world in public education now............some better.........too much not better.

We are in a period of transition, and the education system most of us knew will be changed forever in the coming decade or so imo.

It's time! Our education system is so outdated and archaic... most of what is taught over the course of a year in high school could easily be learned in a few weeks by watching YouTube videos...

Sad thing is.........from what I experienced ........is that what you are saying has waaaay too much truth.

I got some great kids that I'm teaching at my Church's Rite of Confirmation classes but man there are two or three of them that are absolutely killing my ability to teach. I literally need five times the amount of time with those three because they are just so disruptive. Not that they're ever really disrespectful, they're actually quite funny but damn they just need to learn some restraint.

Easy Fix here.... A dragon kick to the throat is the answer but it has to be done properly. The way to tell if the maneuver has been executed properly is Post Dragon kick the child will be in the fetal position. If not attempt the maneuver again and keep doing such until the fetal position is reached.

Tips on Dragon Kick.

1: Execute the maneuver with lightning speed and without warning or hesitation.

2: Make sure that your target is the largest child of the 3 (this way the message sinks in very well with the other 2)

3: Show no remorse or emotion before or after the maneuver ( this is very important psychologically speaking when dealing with children)

4: After the initial target has been eliminated pick a target to the left or the right of the original target and IMMEDIATELY perform the maneuver on that child as well. (after the fact let the 2nd target know loudly so the rest in the class can hear that this was done just because he/she was standing next to the original target. This will ensure that the rest of the class will not want to be near one that is disruptive.)
