Thank you for getting rid of that younger laser sighted QB with a cannon for an arm and going older with 70 million guaranteed cash for 34 yr old Alex Smith...oh and for getting rid of a defensive star too!!!

I always give my local friends a hard time by saying that the best time to be a Redskins fan is from January through September.

That jab is going to fall flat this year......HA

Snyder is the gift that keeps on giving...the NFC East that is.

Now without Cousins...theyll be lucky to win 4 games next year.

well...when they feel pressured to change their name to the Washington Snowflakes, there'll be enough distraction that nobody will notice they're losing until about Thanksgiving

I agree with DMV.
The Redskins lose much better with Cousins then they ever will with Smith.

Meh. I think they did themselves a favor. Smith had a very good year, and they'll be saving money on what they had to pay Cousins that can be used to upgrade other positions... or squandered, as usual.

I agree with DMV.

They had to franchise Cousins because there was no better option. How would they tell their fans they are staying competitive starting Hoyer at QB? The thinking behind the trade for Smith is almost certainly a bridge gap situation. I know they extended him but a lot of those contracts are front loaded with the option to cut him in the later years of the contract at a small cap hit,. I would almost guarantee the Redskins draft a QB this year and if not they will have to next year or be leveraged into overpaying a QB again. I think the thing that will hurt the Skins the most is the CB they traded away not the change at QB. Really good CBs are almost as hard to find as solid QBs.

All I'm saying is the Redskins switching from one above-average QB to another is akin to Burger King switching mustard brands.
No one will ever notice.

Like I stated above...just those 2 players alone won 3-4 games this year with their abilities.

The once deadly Washington Redskin franchise is just dead. After seeing this group draft for 2 years..Im glad I'm not a fan. I still think it's the best division and the hardest. They have made a serious mistake here.

Smith has had a line and a runningback to take the pressure off of him. That ends next year.. Playing in the smash mouth division where he will have to play Philly...NY...Dallas twice a year.
