The Blizzard of 78...I pulled off a miracle in my VW Beetle wif radial tires and it's second rebuilt engine. Made it home from work, 30 miles, left at 3:30 and pulled most of the way into the parking lot of our apartment building over two hours later.

Just got married that August (1977) to The Lovely Caren, so I had incentive

Rerouted countless times without an annoying voice telling me the best route. There's more to the story, but I couldn't possibly type it all...if you wanna hear it, ya gonna have to sit down wif me, a couple drinks, and a couple smokes.

I recall it... I was 8 and we dug tunnels in the yard. The snow was so deep you could not tell where the cars were.

No power for days, but the food didn't spoil.

So, my brother from another mother. I helped dig out a VW bug in front of my house that went up a snow bank and sunk into it. It to about 10 minutes to get the driver out and he was terrified. Fortunately we saw him go in. It took about 3 hours to get his car out.

I was a senior in high school and the drinking age was 18for awhile back then........great time🍺 ....pretty sure we had a little snow but I don't remember a lot of that two weeks 😰

No snow in the high-country of CO. Drought pending this summer due to no snow pack. It's no fun camping or hunting without a campfire.

About 20 years ago I was working about 70 miles from home... I left about an hour early to try and arrive on time due to the snow.. well it kept falling and they closed the damn highway... I was finally able to reach a town about half way there about lunch time... Had some lunch and headed home...got stranded on da highway again due to truck jackknifing or somethin... Sat on da to again for a few hours... Finally made it home about 6pm.. about the time I would if I had actually gone to work... 😟

Man, I was only 7 years old at the time. My father had a super beetle that he rolled that year pulling one of those "Here hold my beer and watch this" moves. On a snow covered hill acting a nut he lost control and end over end it went. When the bug finally came to a stop the engine had stalled and it was sitting upright with the top all smashed in. Dad fired it right back up pulled it in the driveway and got out. His next words I will never forget, He said "Well that is enough damage for today" and walked in the house like nothing had ever happened. He was 22 at the time and yes I was born when my mother and father was 15. They just dont make men like that no more. Crazy as hell and tough as nails.

I was 2.

Wasn't born yet. I think my parents graduated high school in 78 or 79.

( I graduated in 78 ) bride and I met in may of 77, I remember her doing a real number on her Mom's car pulling out of our driveway as the sides were piled so friggin high and somewhat iced over. There were " temporary snow sledding hills everywhere there was a parking lot!!!

I had my first house in escrow during the blizzard. We had the misfortune in our community of losing a guy that tried to walk too far. I don't remember if his car got stuck or he was going to check on a neighbor. There is a decent documentary produced by the PBS station at Bowling Green.

I know a guy who was married with kids, came to a stop on the highway, realized he would not be moving again for days so he hopped a fence and walked into a neighborhood.

He knocked on a door, a woman let him in...one week later he told his wife he was leaving her, married the good samaritan lady and had another kid...I met them in the early 80's and they are still married today.
