NJ Assembly just passed several new "gun control" laws to add to some of the most restrictive laws in the nation. Our socialist governor has already said that he will sign them.

Two are of major concern.

A2671 - Magazine Limit Ban The first one limits magazines to 10 rounds (15 is the current limit). Anyone in possession of a magazine that holds more then 10 rounds six months after the bill is signed will be guilty of a second degree felony. That would be up to 18 months in prison for EACH magazine. It is estimated that there are over 3 million magazines in NJ that hold over 10 rounds. At a retail value of approximately $30 each, the state is forcing residents to give up $90,000,000.00 worth of personal property. There is no provision for "grandfathering" or blocking of existing mags. Many NJ gun owners will never hear of this bill, and will become "unaware" felons 6 mouths after the bill is signed.

A1217 No-Notice Suspension of Gun Rights This bill allows you to have your gun rights taken away in a "secret court hearing", without due process. Under this bill, anyone can go to court in secret to have your gun rights suspended. You will never even know this is happening, until law enforcement shows up at your door to confiscate your firearms. This means an angry neighbor, angry ex, etc., could go to court in order to have your guns confiscated, strictly on their word, with no opportunity to defend yourself. The bill also provides no consequence for fabricated allegations. So that means if someone tells the court a false story about you, he/she will face no consequences for their lie. You will lose your firearms, but the liar walks away.

Thankfully, I'll be out of here soon, but I do feel for my fellow gun owners who will be left behind.

Top one about magazines is similar to a law passed in CA last year. Lotsa pizzed off peeps...states should include buyback when they consider doing this stuff...

shotguns have had this for years for hunting. you just buy plugs to limit the amount of rounds that can be held. im sure some company can make some $

I know of people that moved out of CA just for that reason. One fellow I know shipped all his guns to his brother in another state then left CA and posted residents elsewhere.

Umm no........apples and elephants.A plug in an 18 capacity 9mm mag to restrict it to 10 is going to get you jail time.

A plug in a shotgun to to restrict capacity to 3 rounds total is to be compliant with federal migratory bird laws and some state laws on native birds.The plug is easily removed for other hunting,target destruction or home defense.

Yep, In NC same law applies for dove season. I have seen people put pencils in the tube to be legal then break the pencil by jamming shells into the weapon when the doves start moving. Was about as worthless as tits on a boar hog.

Actually dove are considered a "Migratory Game Bird"........so that law applies anywhere in the US with a dove season.

Yea.......pencil is a no go,a half inch dowel rod is what most use.I gave up pumps and auto's long ago.I restrict myself to 2 shots.Believe it or not I harvest more with much less.Another true believer of the O/U.

Yep Yep, I have seen sticks, Ink pens, all kinds of crazy chit used. What is really funny in when wardens come in the field to check they don't even look at the plug, They just try to put 4 shells in and if it dont go then all is well. There was one warden that would try to force the shell in to see if he could break whatever the person was using as a plug but he was the only one that would do such. The rest Nope.

It was BS in the fact that this law was passed for good reason but was never really enforced in the area. I always loved using my father's Fox double barrel, A fantastic shotgun and same would get more with less.
