I'm a 60 year old, semi-retired contractor, and have abused my legs and knees over the years. I'm trying to finish my Jersey home and list it so I can get out of the state. About 8 weeks ago, I went to get out of bed after a hard day's work, and could barely walk. After a week of shooting pains down both legs, and weakness in my knees I went to the doc. He ordered X-rays. His conclusion - MILD arthritis in my knees. Hate to inform him that this is in no way MILD arthritis.

Starting seeing my chiropractor. After a few weeks, I was finally able to walk with only a constant, steady discomfort.

Finally said the heck with this and decided to see another doctor last Thursday. Muscle disease called Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Treatment is 6 months to 3 years of low dose steroids. Fun, fun. Doc said results would be instantaneous. Wow, was he correct. 70% of pain gone after first dose. All pain gone after a 2nd dose. Feeling 10 years younger and ready to get this house finished.

Saturday, I get up from the dinning room table and hear a tear/pop in my right knee. Overnight the knee swells up and I can't walk again. Last night the pain was excruciating and I could not sleep a wink. Pain killers wouldn't touch it. So, back to the doc today. Torn Meniscus (knee cartilage), torn tendon, torn calf muscle. Out of action for at least the next 8 weeks. I guess I'll never get the heck out of Jersey.

Oh, well, look on the bright side. Nothing to do but smoke cigars for the next 8 weeks, lol.

I get gout attacks. Intensely painful... Oh, and I'll be 64 in July. 🌫

But... I discovered, for me, Naproxen Sodium, generic over the counter, is a magic miracle drug!

Getting old isn't for sissies. I feel your pain and a few others, but old age does beat the alternative. 🌫

I may take you up on that, John. If we get a nice day, we can sit out on the screened in back porch and smoke a few.

Nope, her name is Donna. I'm her hubby, David (long time C-bidder dpnewell with the Rottweiler avatar). She lets me use her account as I'm banned till 2049, lol. But you knew that already, right? I've learned my lesson. No more controversial or C-bid complaint posts, ever! I'm just glad to be able to reconnect with (and bomb) old friends.

At least you got to your 50’s or so, hopefully before arthritis set in. I wasn’t as fortunate. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and let me tell you, it’s a B*#%. There are days that you don’t want to get out of bed, but you gotta work, so you take 600 mg of Ibuprofen, 500 mg of Acetaminophen, and top it with a strong cup of coffee. Then you move your complaining body whether it’s ready or not. I hate dealing with it, but I am stuck with it. At least I have a high pain tolerance........ Oh, and I have been fighting with this crap for 13 years......

I do hope your pains are temporary.

Thanks. I'll look into that. Last summer I grabbed some CW Hemp Extract. A friend thought it would help with my food allergies. It did, but made me irritabal and jittery, so I stopped. This morning I was beside myself in pain, and decided to try the Hemp Extract again. Pain subsided in a matter of minutes. I took another dose around noon, and am walking better then in weeks. Doc perscribed Tramadol, but I'm trying to avoid it. I'm planning on another dose of Hemp Extract before bed. If I sleep through the night, I won't be touching the Tramadol.

Yes Joel, that La Palina puts out some smoke. When I smoked the first one there was so much smoke that I kept looking at it to make sure it wasn't a Nica Rustica, lol.

I've tried a few candelas, but found most to be boring, though the Fuente 8-5-8 candela and the Illusione candela where pretty good. One I really, really loved was the Asylum Orge 50. It's a barber pole candela/habano. I won 10 for under $2 each, and they where fantastic. Now I can't find them under $8.
