I get that he's rich, like rich beyond belief, but he also spends money like he's dying tomorrow, he likely just lost all of his sponsors, and the quantity of lawsuits he's about to defend - including from the ufc for money lost on the 3 bouts that are now cancelled - would probably bankrupt Bill Gates...

Add to that situation the fact that his one way of making money is fighting and he will never fight for the ufc again... he could box but i doubt anyone wants to see more of that... and that's only if the athletic commission ever allows him to fight again...

Weird decision for the Irishman...

... and also, apparently Rose Namajunes was almost hit and is "very distraught"... and that crazy chick is probably the last person in the world you want to be responsible for making distraught...

Idiotic move for sure. I don't care what Khabib's team said to you, it doesn't justify stupidity on this level. I am glad I already hated him, so I wouldn't have to be let down by another fighter I like (example: Jon Jones).

Dude is going to have some serious lawsuits on his hands. May eat up a lot of that Mayweather money he got. Serves him right.

Based on the interview I saw with Dana White this morning, it isn't out of the question for him to fight in the UFC again, just depends on sentencing and what the athletic commission decides. If he is only out for a couple years, I wouldn't be shocked to see him back in the UFC. He makes too much money for them and that is all Dana White and ownership care about.

Heard one of the dudes and crew earlier cornered and surrounded one of Conor's crew and started making threats and called Conor a ***** and asked where he was at. So Conor rented a private jet flew in from Ireland and regulated.

Sounds like a baller move to me. Charges will be dropped and/or reduced. He'll fight again and the guys won't sue because their next fights will be more valuable. Don't think it was staged but even if Dana hates it they will spin it and make a mint off of it.

he certainly didn't "regulate"... Baller? not even close... he ran around like a monkey throwing stuff, injured 2 uninvolved parties, got his buddy fired from the ufc, and then got arrested... what part of that seems like it was "part of the plan"?

as for the punishent, this isn't the old ufc... this is reebok and usada's ufc... I wont be surprised to see him fight in the octagon again, but i dont think he will....

I don't think McGregor was ever fighting in the UFC again to begin with. How could he possibly make all that money boxing Mayweather and then make maybe 10% that much to fight in the UFC.

Stupid move by a person that has done just about everything perfectly to make the most money he possibly could during his career. I do think that there will be lawsuits that could significantly hurt McGregor's financial situation. The UFC will spin this to make money but the relationship with McGregor is probably done.

Shaun, he can use the UFC to stay relevant to make more $.

He will fight again in the UFC. Stupid move? Yes. But a lot of UFC fans are stupid. It was (to use wrastlin vernacular) an overdone promo.

I would agree with this except for the history with McGregor and the UFC after he won those belts at the same time in two different weight classes. McGregor wanted ownership in the UFC to keep fighting, which was never going to happen. Then found a big payday with Mayweather outside of the UFC. Now White was stripping him of his belts because he has not had a fight in so long. The relationship with the UFC and McGregor through his eyes was probably over unless he got his way, which was an ownership stake. I don't think he had any motivation to ever fight again in the UFC and this was just a power trip after failing to understand the employer holds the power in this relationship.
