suddenly! stays on if I turn off the car. Seems like it will stop when I punch the thing on the steering wheel that should make it beep.

Panic button had no affect.

2008 Honda CR-V

pretty weird.

thanks David. Tried that site but it wasn't user friendly...

read that it's pad problem, relay problem, fuse issue, or wires.

hasn't happened again since I punched the pad, but that may just indicate the pad is the issue.

If it happens tomorrow, I'll either snip and tape the wires or pull the fuse, whichever is easier. Then will bring it in when I can.

If you can get to the horn(s) just pul off the connector. Most likely the connector has a locking lever of some sort that has to be pressed to allow connector removal. Taking out a fuse may work, however it may also disable other safety equipment. Depending on the computer system even disconnecting the form may cause an error code, sometimes automotive engineers are just a little too clever.

Same car I drive. Has 110K miles and no issues except passenger side window regulator which was a recall item fixed for free. Great minds and all that.

Frank, at your age you should be happy anytime you unexpectedly turn something horny.
