Still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when first heard what was happening

So do I. It was a Tuesday, I was off work to take my son to a medical appointment. TV was on, and it switched to the tragedy.

I was getting ready for work, listening to the news on the radio, heard initial reports and turned on TV...when the plane crashed into the second tower, awoke and told my wife what was happening and rushed to work...we had an accreditation team from the state Chancellor's office on campus at Santa Ana College...told the dispatcher to turn on the TV and local news radio to monitor for any similar local incidents...lots of targets in SoCal....

made sure all TV's in Student Center were on, and met with College President and her cabinet to discuss whether or not to cancel classes or stay open...we stayed open...along with my three officers, we stayed out actively patrolling all day...tried to maintain a calm and re-assuring atmosphere...
