Recommending the CB add an option to shipments for a humidity packet. My sticks are dry upon arrival ...and need 1-2 weeks in the humidor to re- humidify.

Anyone else have this problem?

Generally takes 9 to 14 days for me to get stuff out here in the Marshall Islands.

When I get cigars, I don't 'test' them to see if they are dry.

I just put 'em in the stash some place and get around to smoking then in a couple of months or more....

Basically, just do what kwaj says. Get your cigars.......put them into storage........check them 2 months later.
If you're a smoke-em as soon as you get-em noob..........well........buy twice as many as you smoke per month, for 2 years.......then just buy as many as you smoke per month........and voila......you'll always have well rested cigars to choose from.

If your cigars are 'stable' two weeks after you receive them, you're in great shape. Even cigars from my main place that come with Bovedas and are triple Saran wrapped, always get a couple weeks in my coolers before smoking

My Rule of thumb no matter where the cigars come from is a minimum of 2 weeks in the humi no matter how moist or dry they are. When shipped they are going through many areas of humidity and temp changes. Going from say a 32 degree area to a 75 degree area even with a humidity pack the humidity in the cigars has jumped up and down in that pack due to drastic temp fluctuations.

If you are wanting to smoke a cigar right after you get it (ROT), that is what the B&M is for in my OP and even then I pick from a box that is partially empty. This way I know the box has been in the walk in humi for a little while.

On occasion I will smoke one ROT that came in the mail but I do that typically on a brand I have not tried before. It gives me a basic idea of the taste and it gives me a baseline of before stable and after stable taste because it does change and sometimes it drastically changes. Just my OP.

Usually, I have to let the cigars rest for a couple weeks to bring down the humidity, not to moisten them up.

I don't think I've watered my beads in over a year, just throwing new cigars in does the trick.

Mine usually rest two months to two years before I try them.......not all but most.

[I always smoke one the day after I receive them does not matter if it's a brand I have smoked a thousands times or a new brand I'm trying out just to get a small ideal of what the sticks are worth, But I do have a process to add moisture very quickly..Which it takes time and practice and a possible lost of smokes if not done correctly and I would not recommend anyone to try this unless you do so with just one stick and never more than 5 and not with your most prized sticks until it's mastered..

Here is what I do because rehydrating cigars can take weeks or months..
Place the open cigar box inside the bathroom while I take a hot shower (close the box if the cigars are too dry). When I am finished with my shower, I close the box to trap the moisture inside. Then I Rotate the cigars every 2-3 days. After two weeks of doing this, I place the cigars inside a properly maintained humidor...
