"The Senate passed a resolution Thursday to withdraw U.S. support for Saudi-backed forces at war in Yemen in a rare bipartisan rebuke to President Donald Trump."

"The resolution, led by Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), invokes the War Powers Act and passed in a 56-41 vote. It’s the first time the Senate has voted to withdraw forces from a war Congress didn't approve..."

Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that anyone in the Capitol other than Rand Paul had ever heard of the War Powers Act. Maybe now that the cat's out of the bag, we can get the hell out of Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan

Bi-partisan? I’d think it would be more accurate to say 7 Republicans joined the entire Democratic caucus in passing the resolution. Hardly bipartisan. That said, they exercised their responsibility to legislate which is laudable.

it's good start, especially considering it is about one of the most important Constitutional powers granted to the Congress, to declare war. This is important as a check and balance to an executive who may believe endless war is necessary...

In today's polarized political world, this is bipartisanship.

One step forward and two steps back.....

The other chamber must have feared that a well-received bipartisan measure might be too much for us to handle.....in an effort to make sure that Congressional approval rating stays in the single digits....Ryan and company slipped something in the DOMESTIC FARM BILL that prevents the House from taking up the Senate bill on Yemen....REALLY??? WTF? I'm still something of a Ryan fan, but WTF?

O geez...gotta wait a month on this one then...but if the bill dies in the House before the Dems are seated, does the Senate have to do it again? if so, hope the Senate still has the will then...

I think five Democrats jumped on board for that one. Haha! Maybe with a Dem majority House there will be a different outcome when they revisit this one. Even if they get something through, there is always the chance of a Trump veto...

Good. Hopefully this story gains traction in the media and popular opinion will force some serious changes to our Saudi Arabia policy. What's happening in Yemen is straight up genocide.
