And nice fish. Just couldn't resist. Been long time since I hooked one more than 4-5 lbs.

I was at Newton Lake in Southern Illinois.First day down tried getting a round of golf in, only made it to the 14th hole due to rain and cold. The first day of fishing we find out there's a huge high school tournament with about 60 boats of 2 man teams,weather was brutal with 30 mph winds and cold, second day when picture was taken looks nice but winds were about 25mph but warmer, probably the worse conditions I've fished in years.That was just under 3lbs but my cousin did catch a 6lb.6oz largemouth.Just a short trip this year, gonna give it a another shot next year,hopefully a couple more days longer.

Ok, I know I am blind but I do not see a fishing pole. Was that fish floating by half dead and you just snagged it in that net as it was struggling to get some O2 ?

Seriously, not too shabby of a catch at all. Did it put up a good fight for you? Did it do a couple or few of those nice bass jumps breaking the surface?

Hey Al, I caught it on a chartreuse and white spinner bait(when all else fails my go to lure).Ewok,put up a nice little fight but no jumps.
