I have been into prepping somewhat for a few years now. I think it makes sense that because I am still somewhat young, the odds of something happening that change our lifestyle are fairly high. That goes beyond regular short term interruptions in services, natural disasters, economic downturns, etc.. If not in my lifetime, in my son's lifetime and beyond it is almost inevitable. So I try to polish up on certain skills and plan ahead with purchases of food and other goods.

Does anyone else prep and how do cigars fit into this? Do you buy cigars with the thought that they may not be available at some point in the future (for any reason)?

this reminds me of a scene from the Walking Dead when one of the survivors comes across a military Humvee with several immobilized zombies in it. One of the zombies had a few cigars sticking out of his shirt pocket, so the survivor snatched them up and lit one...

VHS - you need to talk to Pudding Mittens - he has a huge collection and everyone here concerned about an apocalypse has his address in case cigars get hard to find.

Hey - got a new noop question idea - David Lee or Sammy ?

The original family guy, seasons 1-3, there's an episode where stewie is at a baseball game and catches a fly ball... He looks at the kid next to him and offers to trade the ball for the kids souvenir bat... When the kid gives him the bat, he smacks him upside the head, takes the ball back, and says "what did you learn?"...

I'm not a prepper...
Per se'

But I'm no UNPREPARED IDJIT by any means....

Got about 3 months , if push comes to shove...and I'm great at night recon ....learned it long ago...
If I need something...ill get it at night while your sleeping...
Im a night owl...not and early bird farmer..,

Pretty good at survival skills too, learned long ago also...
Just never practiced it lately...

One thing that really gets me though is....

If the electricity - GRID goes down...it will be ANARCHY IN ABOUT 7-14 DAYS...

IF THE SKY GOES BLACK FROM a meteor or super volcano erupts...it will be armmegeddon...

If THE MISSOURI FAULT LINE
"GOES ALL 9.5 ON THE RICHTER SCALE" ...IT WILL BE NUCLEAR MELTDOWN CITY FOR THE ENTIRE MIDWEST...RADIATION LEVELS TO THE MAX!!!
and...
Do you R.E.A.L.L.Y, THINK??? that every nuke plant operator EMPLOYEE will go to work every day to prevent meltdowns during a GRID DOWN SITUATION???

I HIGHLY DOUBT IT, Then more nuke meltdowns all over the U.S...., and Europe will be a plutonium, stronium90 and U-235 wasteland from 20+ meltdowns. FRANCE WILL ACTUALLY GLOW IN THE DARK.

NOBODY will survive a nuclear worldwide MELTDOWN SCENARIO...maybe some cockroaches, rats and blind sea animals living at 5 miles down...

Prepping?? I can't afford a $100K aluminum trench tube shelter...

I don't have anything that isn't on sale right now and packed in warehouses and on trucks.. It would be several months in before I became a worthy target for anyone.. And who is going to be looking on cigarbid then? lol

I get what you're saying, and I do not tell the in laws!

But I do like the song 5150

I think it might be more likely an event in between the US and cigar central America, or maybe a super virus or something that takes out a chunk of the tobacco crops. There are a lot of old strains that don't really exist anymore because of disease. There are so many factors that go into growing plants, and so many different people involved and outsiders who can influence the product and cost, like government regulations and taxes........

Ok maybe I'm just looking for excuses to buy more cigars!
Do they make bundles of 50??

Cabinets are sometimes 50 count. Still have a Fonseca 50 count one. I've heard of 100 count boxes.

Bill Burr does a hilarious bit about this. He said you can save food and water, plant crops, set up a windmill etc but without a gun all you're doing is getting your place ready for the toughest guy on the block who has a gun....#-o
