Newbie here,

I've got my humidor at 64% and 70°f, Seasoned it when I first got around 3 years ago and haven't touched it since. I am getting back into cigars and have 2 boveda 69% packs in there. I have 3 orders coming in, a 12 pack sampler, 6 pack Sampler and a 10 pack Tabak.

Just wondering if there is anything else I need to do maintenance wise to my humidor before loading it up?

PS. Even with the 2 boveda packs and those numbers my cigars always seem rather dry and crack (granted they were cheap cigars) Hence the concern.

Any advise would be great !

What kind of hygometer do you have analog or digital and have the salt test to see how accurate it is ?

Answer this fast before my friends show up if they show up first put a rain coat on.

welcome to the madhouse, hillary... the two Boveda 69 should be fine for 25-30 cigars...keep them in the humi...if you want to raise the humidity in the humidor, fill a shot glass with water and put it in the humidor, then remove it when your shipment comes in...if the Tabaks are an infused/flavored variety, you should keep them separate, or risk having the other cigars acquire some off flavors...plastic tupperware containers work well as inexpensive humidors for cigars

Welcome fellow Noob! Enjoy the craziness!. Don't know if you already know this but, you use the packs based on how many cigars your humidor can hold, not how many are in there.

Is your hygrometer a digital or analog and hve you done the salt test if you do not know what I am talking about google is your friend.

More cigars make it EASIER to maintain humidity if they’re normal when you get them as they HAVE humidity. That makes LESS AIR for your device to have to manage.

I did the salt test when I first purchased my humidor and calibrated it. Left it alone until last year when I bought the Boveda Butler and did their test kit. And been using that ever since.

I only season my humidor with Romaine lettuce.

Also if you have any questions that you might think are silly, private message jaderose he is the official “new guy guide”.

Another tip, get familiar with the search function (it’s not great butt)
