Got my tin the other day. Shipped from Guatemala of all places. This was my first purchase from Ravi so did not know what to expect. The tin had been opened (as they disclose on the website where they also say you can request they don't open the boxes). The tin was then wrapped in plastic with a little 69% Bovida pack inserted between the wrap and the tin. Not sure how much difference that would make but its a nice thought.
Although I will let most of then rest for a while, I did try one after only a couple days.
The wrappers are all pretty rough and "rustic." Veins and wrinkles and a few blemishes on some of them. Two of the cigars and small greenish spots on them. Segregated those in a zip-lock, just in case. Leaving the rest in the tin inside my coolador.
Pre-light smell very nice, the hay people describe was there along with a sweet tobacco.
Cigar lit up well and mostly burned straight. Did need one touch up about halfway in.
The flavor was quite nice, some spice but mine was not as hot/spicy as the OP's notes suggest. A light salty-savory undertone upfront along with the spice with some sweet hay/nutty aftertaste.
In all, assuming the green spots are not big deal, it was a good purchase. Very nice flavor and well worth the price. Won't ever confuse these with my beloved Hoyo Epicure's, but a very good smoke.
