According to Gas Buddy we have the lowest average price of gasoline in the entire nation. I wonder how long it will take our politicians to fugg that up?

The team is from River Ridge which is about 5 miles west of New Orleans. . Wife’s best friend was from there. After we got married, that was where we had our first apartment. Lived there about a a year.

It’s probably got more to do with the fact that I live about 10 miles from one of the five largest gasoline refineries in the US and our low gasoline tax or both.

Paid $1.94 this morning.

We have the most effed up tax system in Washington State. Just mentioning "income tax" is a great way to kill your political career. Even with all of the millionaires and billionaires in this state. Seattle tried to impose one, appellate court said no dice. So we end up taxing every damned low-hanging fruit (95% on pipe tobacco is my standard gripe, and to protect that, the state made it illegal to buy and sell across state lines (unless you have a biz license, tobacco retailer license and distributor license, all of which run close to a grand, not even factoring in that you have to have an actual tobacco retail business for it)). After some bud (taxed at 37%), I like some American Spirit black. A pack in NOLA costs about $7.50 in March of this year. The same thing runs $12 at stores near me. Thankfully, I don't go through many, but I love me some perique (yes, been to St. James Parrish, but dammit, couldn't get to a perique farm...long story) and it's easier than loading a pipe with VaPer (albeit not as satisfying). Gas running about $3.50 per around here right now, and we keep adding to the gas tax every few years.

OTH, congrats to the team form LA for winning it all in the LL World Series. That is a VERY cool title to hold.
