What brings you joy? What are those things in life that make you happy? I'm not talking material things, or maybe I am. Some of the things that make ol' Jade happy....

Sitting my little boat on my favorite lake at sunrise with some good hot coffee, ready to make my first cast.
Hearing my wife laugh.
Hearing my daughters laugh or watching them be proud of something they've accomplished.
Accomplishing a dreaded task.
Tinkering on my hobbies.
BS'ing with you idiots.
A meal prepared with love by someone other than me.
Listening to old favorite or discovering new and great music.
Obviously, a good cigar.

The older I get, the less I care about career accomplishments or how expensive my toys are. Those things just don't matter that much to me anymore.

What say you? What makes you happy or content or brings you joy?

My wife kids and grandkids.
God
Hunting
Fishing

So many to list!
MSo not a simple question

I fully agree on the material things. They mean NOTHING. The greatest of these is LOVE 🙏

My grandchildren. Hands down the absolute loves of my life.
My family, wife, kids, but those grandchildren have made Grandpa human again. I wasn't sure that was possible.
A good beer. A good cigar. Good bourbon and rum with a friend hanging out.
Shooting, be it competing, hunting, or just screwing around practicing or plinking. Teaching other to do the same.
Baking, I love baking sourdough breads.
Beekeeping, it's been on the back burner while I built my oven, but I want to build them back up next year.

Did I mention my grandchildren? I love those kids.

That's about it really.

Nothing.

I don't think I ever in my life have worried about that.

Do what you need to do to live.

Do what you can to distract yourself from whatever pain you cannot endure during that time.

Die eventually, knowing you did everything you needed to do to live up to that point.

see victor...it aint that hard...didn't that bring you some joy? (but I see your point...who kidnapped Jade, or did he suffer a head injury?)

My grandkids are definitely at the top of my list of things that bring me joy. I marvel at how quickly they learn things, express themselves, laugh and play, interact with me and grandma (we babysit our daughter's two little girls 5 days a week - the three year old goes to pre-school for two half days)... I just wish they had an "off" button, that'd be perfect...

other joy, prolly for relief from babysitting is the solitude of a long drive on the open road, beyond city traffic, preferably a winding road with great views of nature, listening to music...

while traveling to places with natural beauty, hiking during the day, or walking through a market-place mingling with the locals and sampling local food and drink

while on vacation in a scenic place when night falls, I enjoy relaxing in a comfortable chair, reading a great book

taking long walks in the early evening

fishing with family and friends...I rarely fish alone...

cigars at night in the man cave, watching sports, cigars while walking, cigars while fishing, cigars while having morning coffee on vacation

Family, wife, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildern

Having enough underwear and socks to go an entire week without doing laundry

A warm bed on a cold night

Being retired

Going to the range emptying a bunch if brass putting holes in paper then refilling the brass to do it all over again.
