For anyone connected to US Naval Special Warfare, this man was a legend.

He served from 1944 to 1990, one of the original SEAL's selected. They come no harder.

Really a great guy though, he went out of his way to make folks welcome and part of the team. Even if you were just a rookie boat guy doing a support gig.

Truly a great leader. I didn't know anyone with anything less than total respect for the guy. The things that man accomplished for this nation will never all be told. There won't be anymore like him, that is for sure. 😞
