Hey all, glad I found this place.

I have been paying retail for many years, but hopefully I can earn a "one month in recovery" coin here soon.

I have won a few auctions for five packs but had a question about auctions with multiple items in the lot.

Let's say there are 10 items in the lot.

Person A bids $2.00 for 5 of them.

Person B bids $3.00 for 5 of them.

Why is the next winning bid available in the system $4.00?

If I (Person C) only want 5 of them, shouldn't I be able to bid $3.00 for five items and beat Person A's bid?

I have run into this a few times and still don't really understand.

That's just how it works, you won't get to be able to do that until you earn Platinum membership. It doesn't make sense but what really does make sense anyways? Bid hard, bid often and welcome to the forums.

Lots have different “bid minimums”
Sometimes .50 cents............sometimes $1, sometimes $2, sometimes $3.
Also, Person A might have set their maximum bid at $3, so you will need to bid $4 to beat his bid.

There's algorithms and stuff. Best plan is to bid til you win and not think about the details too much. Welcome

It just felt like I was bidding against the wrong person.

I now understand that I should win EVERY auction I enter and bid unrelentingly until I do. Retail? Eff that. I pay OVER retail just to win auctions.
