FGM, You definitely have a nice pair and love your grandson, hehe.
I have a pair of Stingray, Full Quill Ostrich, and I think my dress pair are Calfskin, but need to check that box label.Yes, I wear them with my nice suit and they have carried far too many family members their last steps to the gravesite. Some of the longest lasting I ever had were Cape buffalo, I wish Nocona could still get that leather, they were TOUGH! I'm pretty hard on a pair of shoes or boots.
I can't wear all the other fancy brands and have to get the EEE or higher width from Nocona.
My foot has grown much wider since my teen years, otherwise, I would still be wearing a pair of Anaconda's I got in the late 70's. I still have them in storage and have considered sending them to someone that could add some sort of leather to each side of the Anaconda and make me a new pair from them. I think they were a B width.
I get quite a few compliments on the Stingray, and sadly I have worn a "Camel hole" in the leather soles. ( From the old cigarette ad, I'd walk a mile for a Camel.) I tend to limp to one side and it causes a hole to be worn through just behind the big toe and arch area.
