Anyone in Austin ever been to the Bolivar Cigar Lounge at 309 East Caesar Street?

Their web site is bolivarlounge dot com

They just opened a new location very close to my office and I was really excited to have place I could go smoke in the middle of the day, but I walked in and it's membership-only. And the membership is a few HUNDRED per month. Just to smoke in the lounge.

Mind you, the place looked really nice, but it has been completely empty the few times I walked in.

Wondering if anyone in Austin has been and what your experience has been?

Okay . . . A little quick cipherin' . . .

Membership $200/month
Visits 8, (2 visits per week)
$25 per visit . . . Just to smoke in the lounge ?

Now, if you went EVERY day, (30 visits), the price would drop down to just under $7 per visit.

If you manage to get a platinum card here, I think there is a 30% credit to that membership.

Capital of Texas. Lot's of politicians on expense accounts. Oil people on expense accounts, folks lobbying both on expense accounts. Lot's of money to toss around.

It wouldn't be there if it weren't thought viable.

I may be there in April but I will avoid the place and leave town for other parts of Texas quickly.

The place is supposed to have some amazing ventilation system so you never smell like smoke, no smoke in the air, etc...

Truthfully, I am waiting for it to go out of business so an actual cigar shop can take its spot and then I can go there all the time to smoke and pretend to work.
