Wife is a TV watcher, I could care less, and have even gone years a few times without a TV. Although, I do watch a bit more now that I'm stranded at home, in pain most days.

We had a BIG damn VIzio, she just HAD TO HAVE when Peyton Maning was in the super bowl, LOL. So, I don't keep up, but that's ben a few years. (HEHE, at least I know enough to snicker when poor CS picked two from the same conference)

This Vizio might be an easy fix, but after they changed to mostly ALL Chinese made and little thin ones without bulbs and fuses, I can't work or at least I don't try to work on them. Acts like it's got a ghost in the sucker!?!?!

Anyways, I know some of you folks are tech savvy, far more than me and likely know your TV's at least which ones to avoid. I told her I would research a brand that she texted earlier today. One of her co-workers said they are cheap, problem is, they are cheap, AND I'm not into spending bug money for a 57" or whatever this monster is!

TCL brand is what they're talking about and he says it's lasted over 2+ years, and there's one on sale at Amazon for 279.99, normally 599.99.

Any help appreciated, she will be thankful, as will I, I'm about to text back that I have the cbid experts on this one, LOL

Exactly, I think they have already started. That's when we got the last one, best I remember.

Unfortunately, my wife has little patience about some things, LOL.

Me, I wouldn't even bother, we have a little one that normally is in the bedroom, it just looks funny on the big azz mantle where the other one sat. As well, I can barely see the guide.

The only good thing is we are able to get some unbelievably cheap TV, which includes at least a hundred or more locals from around the US, all the PPV's, premium channels from the US and UK, EVERY sports premiums, like MLB, NFL, NHL, EPL (I guess that's the soccer channels) all the other normal channels and even 99 XXX channels. I'm afraid to even open those, and like my wife said, WHY?!?! SO many when the internet likely has almost everything, but whatever.

Funny story, I told my niece, actually her husband because he likes those UFC and boxing matches and we cracked up when he sent a text and said they were trying to watch 20/20 and accidentally hit one of those channels, I warned him that I chose the wrong type of subscription, and it's hard to get the password for blocking them, LOL! They have a couple of teenage boys!! 😰

Good point, maybe I should add his name to the title, LOL.

As for Costco, we don't have one around here, maybe the closest one is Memphis and I thought they require a yearly charge like the Sam's Club?!?!

The TV you are talking about, the 4 series, has a full price of 329.99. You are better off spending 50 more at Best Buy and getting the 5 series. Better processing, better panel. Their 6 series TV is a real good value, but it does jump up to $550. However is has a pretty decent color spectrum for a TV in that price range.

Thanks for the input, guys.

I'm still in "research mode", you are correct on the 50 or so extra bucks. I need to find someone that works at Best Buy and that either my wife or one of her friends know. Always seems to be easier for wimmins to get friends of a friend to buy them stuff, LMAO.

Quite true, I've read up on WHEN to buy various appliances and around the Super Bowl and lead up to the game is when they offer the best deals on TV's, even better than the "Black Friday" stuff.

Linus just did a review of TVs under $400:

I have a 43 inch TCL in my mini cigar lounge portion of my garage and it's great unless you are putting it in a really bright room. (TCLs are not the brightest of the bunch).

Even better, make the trip up here and we will work on this big rascal while we sample some of my large selection of Bourbon or Scotch!!!!

We have a couple of extra bedrooms upstairs, as well as an entire 24x13' room just for my selections and collections!!
