One step closer to a second term for Trump. The only one that can beat Trump is Bloomberg, but the Democratic rank and file simply ignore this. They don't have anyone else that has a chance. Biden has slowed down to much, this is obvious. Klobuchar, like what she has to say, but she has no traction and we have never had a Jewish or female president, she won't be the first. Mayor Pete, a gay man isn't going to be elected president, this is just stating the obvious. Bernie and Warren, not a chance, even I will not vote for a socialist for president. Most of America won't. Bloomberg? He could be everything we hoped Trump would be. But he isn't a real Democrat. Exactly. But he isn't following the historic path to nomination. True, he has a plan that would only make sense to Americans not in politics. But he is just like Trump. No, he isn't bat sh1t crazy. Also he finds ways to make things work much better than Trump, like 60B better. But he is a 1 percenter. More like a .001 prevented. Guess what, he earned his money. But he made bad decision. Yes, he has admitted to them. But his apology wasn't politically correct enough. Boo Who.

Bernie isn't a Socialist. He's not even a real independent, as he votes with the Dems over 90% of the time. He's just a moderate liberal populist.

I've understood socialism success as being measured by how many people are able to get assistance.
Conservative success measured by how many people no longer need it.

Israel, India, and the United Kingdom all adopted socialism as an economic model following World War II...…... all three failed.

Ok BD1, after really thinking about it you are right. But for his ideas to work we would have to adopt Modern Monetary Theory. BTW, I am not saying this would be bad.

it really comes down to how many people vote that normally do not, and where they live. All the people that vote all the time are all set, and have been for decades.

Obama got tons of votes from people all over who normally do not vote, and they returned to that non action when it came to Hillary.

But saying Trump won because people didn't like Hillary is an inaccurate explanation of why he won...because he lost by 3 million real votes, so not liking Hillary is not what happened. The reality is that more liked her than him! Or more disliked him than her...whatever. It's stupid to deny that any longer. (I voted for neither).

Trump's campaign targeted zip codes of those who missed out on the 8 years of recovery the rest of the nation was experiencing (like unemployed/uninsured Rust Belt folks) and got them off the couch and into the polling places...which is what election winners do in the New World.

Trump inspired the unemployed/underemployed non voters the same way as did Obama for previously non voting minorities, but in different electoral areas like the Rust Belt. Each successful candidate made their motivated supporters feel like someone was speaking to and for them.

In my mind, the question is will those same folks who were bypassed before, and have actually been bypassed again when it comes to better lives, sit this one out in despair, vote with the same emotion as they did 4 years ago despite no change in their lives, or decide that it's worth yet another change.

I don't pretend to know. But my personal comfort level has been following the same trajectory as it had been under Obama, no great losses, no miracle improvement since he left office. The key voters who will decide the next winner are those same folks who put Trump in office last time, and if truth be told, did not get to participate in our decade of economic growth.

Are still angry? Are they newly angry? Will they just give up?
