40 years ago the US Olympic Hockey team of amateurs shocked the world by beating the powerful Russians!
Al Michaels asked the question in one of the most famous broadcasting moments in history.
A few local boys were on that team, and all Americans who were fortunate enough to be tuned in for that historical moment will never forget that feeling.

Seeing Mike Eruzione (Winthrop, MA) being interviewed on local newscasts the last couple of days has put a smile on my face that just won't quit!

The Olympics were tape delayed here so you hadda stay up late in order to watch the day's events. As much as I wanted to watch it, was just too late for me. Would be years later until I saw the whole game. Still gave me goosebumps.

One of Al Michaels's early broadcasting jobs was here in Hawaii. Knew he was talented but never thought he'd reach the heights he's reached.

Palama had me going there for a second as I remember the live game being on around noon time here. Of course it would be quite a walk and swim from here to Palama's place.

I don't know aBout you Frank ...but I'm 63 and I look way better than any of those guys on that team that I saw.

Maybe you need a more accurate mirror or maybe they were on ice too long.

I'm 66, fatter now and had all my hair back then, but my face and skin are in good shape...must be the Dove.
